That would be the logical thing to do. But it's more fun to copy and paste his letters, I guess.

Fox News has a reputation of not getting the facts right. I'd like another source that doesn't just quote from Fox.

Only in this bizarre forum is asking for another source considered "ignoring the facts"..

Because none of the mainstream left leaning networks would touch the story, less the be called not politically correct.

What Fox has a reputation for is posting stories that expose the lunatic left.

Does Fox ever get one wrong..Sometimes, but so do the other Networks. CNN,CBS, MSNBC have all been caught in whoppers.

Thanks BJ

Ok you got NPR backing it up

What now. You can't attack the source , so ?

What if there is a white kid; excellent swimmer, certified lifeguard who applies for the position; but he is turned down because they want to train somebody else for the position? Does that change anything?

I think that, if I was that white kid, I would find it more than a little frustrating.

Unless there's evidence of that actually happening here, I don't see the point in getting upset about it.

Of course it would be frustrating and it would not be right. If the person is qualified and can break down some of the language barriers there seems to be, they should get just as much consideration as anyone else.

pardon the obvious, indeed.

you posted a you tube video. i didn't even watch it. you know why? because youtube isn't a credible source of information. another reason? the title alone completely stupid and obviously written that way to cater to a certain audience. the scare way too easy, always assume black folk can't swim, old white demographic. sound familiar?

It was a you tube video of a News Broadcast...You got an NPR story now..next

NPR reported it without the sensationalism. That's all I wanted - a news source that was just going to tell me the facts. Thankfully someone else was able to provide it.

As long as they are trained up to standards, I don't see the issue.

Plus, some minorities can swim quite well. They can pass the test like anyone else, if not, you work at it until you are ready.

So let me get this straight

You think it's ok to turn down 100% qualified applicants because of their color, and go hire unqualified applicants just because of their color, who you may or may not can teach to do the job.

Imagine if you're black and have to go through this on a daily. It's like some white people only hate discrimination when they think it's targeted at them. AA doesn't work like that. They are saying that if a minority wants to work as a lifeguard and doesn't have a strong swimming background, they will work with you to get you within standards.

Just because you're a minority, doesn't make you inferior.

Ok hot shot, show me where they said they would turn down a qualified applicant for one who couldn't swim.

This is a huge fallacy that Fox sells to its watchers. They say "We are the only ones with this story!" If only one news source carries the story, any story, it really means the story is BS.

If the story is interesting and credible, it will be everywhere. Whether it is PC or not, is not an issue. Fox wants you desperately to believe that to cling to their network. This story, for instance was on NPR. What Fox did is blow it out of proportion, hide important facts, and make an issue of nothing. That is what they do all the time.

It helps when the "boat" you made out of tires and corrugated metal starts sinking.

I would also like to point out that this story is not actually AA but a local effort to get some kids some training so they can get some jobs to be good role models to little kids.

And we all know that is a TERRIBLE thing.

They were also hiring blacks that were not qualified to, that did not speak english

Libs amaze me..

Battle Plan

A. Totally deny the story could be true, and discredit the source

B. Completely try to make the argument something it is not

C. Insult your opponent and claim to not care.

I didn't deny the story to be true. I asked for another source for the story. Two different things, but I don't expect you to actually pay attention to what I'm saying - never have, never will, it all goes through your sensationalism filter and comes out warped in the end.

The majority of the kids in this pool are minorities who don't speak English as a first language. So now you're upset that they're hiring lifeguards who are minorities who don't speak English as their first language? Why?

Are they firing all the white folk? No white people allowed at the pool? Are qualified white people who know Spanish being turned away for unqualified black people?

What's the hysteria about, NB?

No. They were making an effort to get some teens some lifeguard training so that they might be hired in the future. They were not hiring them before they were qualified.
