My wife arrived P.O.E Atlanta, 4-22, married 6-22, filed AOS, 7-2.

Received 797 on 7-10, for I-485, EAD and AP.

Letter today from USCIS office in Lee's Summit, MO. ??????

Her bio metrics was taken in our home state of South Carolina (Charleston), 8-7.

Letter was titled, "Notice of Interview Waiver" saying an interview would probably NOT be required.

Then the strange part.

"Due to work load factors not related to your case, USCIS anticipates a delay in completing your case."

Presently, we anticipate that delay to be approximately 6 months from the date of this letter. (10-16-13) If you do not receive a decision or other notice of action from USCIS by that date please contact our NCSC."

Signed by Robert Cowan, Center Director, USCIS.,.,. BUT was mailed from Lee's Summit, Missouri.,.,. also the letter head address was from Lee's Summit, Missouri.

Has anyone experienced a delay like this on I-485, without it NOT being related to anything we submitted for documentation?

Her file date for AOS was 7-2, received 7-10, and 6 months from now would put us into next April.,.,,how long is all OK, after you file for AOS?

Please, help, somewhat confused and dismayed!

Search on these forums, it's common.

Lee's Summit, MO office = NBC (or half of it at least).

AoS from K-1 has around a 50-50 chance for either no interview (interview waiver, as they call it) but takes about a year to process, or a shorter timeframe but an interview at the local office.

Hank,

Thanks, as usual, you have been a great friend on this site, and I will always thank you!

How long can my wife be here without problems, filed AOS 7-2-13.,.,..how long do we have for "greencard".,., a year from filing of AOS?

Except for the ""Sputum"" fiasco in Manila, all has been smooth for uss until now, maybe we need to "pay" a little more now!

Thanks, bud!

Once she filed, she is good until she gets her GC, no matter how much that takes.

When you file for AOS, you are in a new period of authorized stay. There is no time limit to get the green card by. However long it takes, is how long it takes.

~ Moved one little step more from the AOS Family Based main forum to the Progress Reports sub-forum- topic is case status ~

We received the same notice dated 08/29/2013after filing for AOS in May of this year. Yesterday I recieved an email that the card was in production with no interview! So maybe it won't be too long for you either. Good Luck on this great journey we all have started here.
