My fiancee was approved her visa to come and marry me here in the States. Her arrival date is Dec 13th. already have the ceremony date scheduled. Can anyone help me with some questions regarding starting the I-485 adjustment of Status processing.

Now my fiancee received the sealed envelope that she is not to open until she arrives at the first port which then only the immigration officer will open. I am concerned, because documents that will be required for the Green card processing are in that sealed envelope and was told she will not receive any of that back.

Question one: The affadavit of Support - this was provided by me for the I-129F petition that was given to the consulate for the interview. From what I understand the Adjustment of status is going to require a Affadavit of support also, why is it necessary to repeat the same procedures? Is this required for the I-485 submittal??

Question number two: Can anyone tell me without sending me to a website, what documents they will require to process the Adjustment of Status, not the forms, but documents, such as birth certificate, marriage certificate , etc.. Our complete I-129F is in that sealed envelope with the most important documents, and if some of those same documents are required for the I-485 submittal will she have to reapply to get those same documents all over again??

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Again, would like to see what she will need for documents once we start the paperwork for the I-485, so she can start working on this before she leaves Tokyo to come here with me to the States.

Thank you for any help I can get

Ron

The I-134 is not a legally binding contract. The I-864 that is required with the I-485 is legally binding and has more definitive requirements.

The contents of the sealed envelope is your entire case file. It will be forwarded to the USCIS. You need the NOA2 I-129F petition approval for filing AOS, and that is not in the sealed envelope.

Follow the guide here on VJ for what is required.
