Greetings to all!

I like to inquire if there is already an existing thread or topic for Missouri Service Center transferees? I was surfing and searching, but I did not find one. I would like to know how other MSC transferees are doing. And what's the status of their AOS now.

I applied for AOS last May 2006, together with my son. Then I went to Portland for my biometrics and interview. Last August I submiited the RFE's to Portland district office. October came and still no word, so we wrote both office Portland and Missouri ( submitted copies of RFEs to MSC, too). Then last October, I received an update on status that my case is now being reviewed and transferred to MSC.

* October 27 - date my case was transferred to MSC. No update till now?

It would help, if I can get information on updates and how other cases transferred to MSC are doing. And suggestions are welcome! I just saw a CSC transferee's thread, no MSC. Thank you!

Jan

no there isnt a thread for MSC... mainly because the files pretty much just sit there until transferred to either CSC or your local office for further processing/interview appointment.

I would probably make an infopass appointment since you have already had your interview... what happened at that??? and find out what the story is...

Where you told you where approved pending FBI namecheck or something???

Did the message specifically state you were transferred to MSC (i.e. does the word transferred appear?) or does it say "This case is at our MISSOURI SERVICE CENTER"? If the latter then the case is actually where your interview took place.

Dear Kim & James. Niagaenola and dr_lha,

Thank you very much for the response. That made some things clear for me. To answer your questions:

1) When I had my inteview in Portland, nothing was mentioned to me about approval or what. The interviewer just told me to mail the RFE's to Portland, rather than MSC, where the first notice for RFE was supposed to be sent. I mailed the RFEs as instucted to Portland the following Monday, since the interview took place on a Friday.

2) Yes, we were able to get SSN without our AOS first. The SSN was my second document with my married name, got it a month after I got married. AS for my son, I showed them the EAD, pasport and other documents, and he was issued his SSN. I guess we are just lucky to be here on this side of Oregon, as the agencies are always helpful and effective. No problem with DMV too.

3)We were interviewed last August in Portland, my timelime will show the process I've been through. It was also in August I mailed the RFEs to Portland. And then it has been awhile since there was an update from them. I was always basing the guide for processing times in Portland. October came, and still no response or email update or change in the online status. So I wrote the Portland office and MSC. I wrote Portland for an update, since we didn't get a notice if they got the RFEs. I wrote MSC, that we mailed the original RFEs to Portland and then I also sent copies to them just in case MSC was not notified. I got replies from both offices, Portland said about security check, CRIS emailed that they received the RFEs last October and my case was being reviewed at MSC and they will send me a notice.

4) Then I got a new update again on November and this is what it said:

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Response to request for evidence received, and case processing has resumed.

On October 27, 2006, we received your response to our request for evidence. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response unless fingerprint processing or an interview are standard parts of case processing and have not yet been completed, in which case you can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. This case is at our MISSOURI SERVICE CENTER location.

Portland is now processing AOS as of May 16, 2006 and I belong to that month. So I am just counting days and hoepfully early next year I get another notice. Should I set an Infopass? Portland is about 130 miles away, but we always make a point to go there. We called the hotline, as usual they can't give precise answers.

Now at least, your answers gave me additional information. Thank you very much. But even without my AOS, I proceeded looking for employment, as I am armed with my EAD card. I have to renew it by January though, it expires in June and that would be additional $$ again. That is why I hope they will apporve my AOS and get my green card by January, so I don't have to renew the EADs of my son and me.

Again, thank you. Have a nice day!

Respectfully,

Janice
