we went for our interview on thursday, Was nerve racking waiting for it but in the end then interview lasted about 4 mins, the interview officer asked us 3 very simple questions as she looked through our papers and then said we were approved and that my wife would get her green card in 2 weeks in the mail.

I want to take her so she can get her social securtity number, should i wait until her green card or can i do that with her work permit only and passport??

also my wife never got a travel documentation so we can visit her family in her country, do we just need the green card for her to travel to her country, or did the interview officer need to put some form of stamp on her passport for that(a friend of mine told me she needs some type of stamp)?

Also after we get her green card does she need to make a new passport? the one she got from her country is valid until 2021?

Congrats! She can get a SSN with her EAD, but I would just wait for the GC. That way she is registered as a LPR and has an unrestricted SSN in one trip. She can travel once she gets her GC in the mail. If you ned to travel soon, you can make infopass and ask for a stamp in the passport, but otherwise they won't give it. GC is better proof of LPR than the stamp.

AOS for my husband
