Hello everyone. I have been engaged to my Russian fiancé for two years and was waiting for her to finish school. Now that she is done we are ready to take the next step and get that k-1 visa for her. Any advice? Does anyone know the wait time from beginning to end? Is it wise to use an agency like rapidvisa? I'm a complete noob who is in love... Sorry for the cheesiness.

Also, I was divorced a few years ago. Will I need the actual divorce decree or will a copy do? I took it with me on my last visit to Russia and left it hoping that I would return and marry her there but things are very complicated that way.

Hi, welcome to VJ.

I am happy to say you are in the right place now. My advise is keep reading, searching, and ask on the forum. Here the guide for very first step. You can post onto K-1 visa forum also sub-forum RUB (Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus) to get more insight about country where the beneficiary comes from.

I am in relationship with my fiance for more than 5 years now. I think patience is very important to going through this waiting game process. We just filed last August and got approved on October 11, 2013. The waiting time may vary for individual. It says on the website usually take 3-6 months for I-129F approval. But as you can see now, I-129F approvals so fast lately. So I think you are on the right path.

Anything you can ask here related to immigration to US. Good luck!.

Thank you both. It warms me that there is a community to help through this crazy process. The help so far is awesome, without it I don't know how anyone gets this done since researching independently on other sites seem to have contradicting information.

Can someone please help?? I'm reading some people saying that ALL fields should be marked NA if not applicable, others are saying leave them blank, including the example k-1 app on this site. Anyone know for sure the correct answer?

Hi Im new to this site too.. I have just received my NOA2 in record time. We did hire a lawyer and I looked at our old emails from our lawyer regarding evidence. They said to us don't send your original divorce certificate as the chances are USCIS wont return them.. Hope that helps. Good luck.
