Good afternoon dear forum members !

The sponsor for my resident visa (my husband) , made the same process for another person's 25 years ago, He divorced after 10 years, the question is ...

He does not respond financially for that person now, He not seen her for 15 years, in the form I864, they ask for how many people is the sponsor responsible, and the number of that question is 2 persons, just him and me, but i864 is asking too if the sponsor was sponsor in the past of someone else ... and there we don’t know what to answer bcs he don’t know nothing of her for 15 years, and as I commented that was 25 years ago , and as I commented that was 25 years ago , and I imagine that she must be paying social security for over 10 years , but we have no certainty idea...... How we can know if she is paying social security, or if she is beneficiary of someone else?

Do you Think that we should put her in the form I864? and if so, so revenue increase?

Thank you very much for your cooperation

if that human is a citizen of the USA, then I-864 sponsership ends.

if that human has 40 quarters of work (10 years, roughly) then the I-864 sponsership ends.

So, find out, whats what, aye?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

that is the problem, we dont know if she is a citizen or if she was working after they divorce, so if we count her in the i864, that mean we have to count 3 persons and not just 2 (him n me), so the proverty guidelines need be more high for 3 persons?

Tnx u very much for ur help! :)

The answer to your question is yes, the amount of income needed to be a sponsor will be higher, its not that much more, but it is more for 3 than 2. http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864p.pdf

Update:

~ 20k/year for 2 people.

~ 25k/year for 3 people.
