Hi there, was just wondering if anyone out there got an interview and their visa through the DV lottery only in the final month when the bulletin went to current? I've seen a lot of variances regarding wait times for visa after the interview and there's therefore a risk that even if you get and pass your interview, the administrative processing takes too long and exceeds the September 30 cutoff for the end of the fiscal year. The wait times seem to vary greatly and I have tried to search through all the posts for some actual specifics but can't find any, only people who were still waiting (all seem to stop posting after they get their visa).

So would firstly be interested to hear in general, how long after the interview did you get your visa?

Secondly, how many people got processed in the last month (September) and still got their visa?

Thanks!

There are data in another forum on this. I don't know the exact numbers but yes a lot of people get after it goes current and there seems to be a surge in approved AP cases right at the end of the FY, but there are also people who run out of time and miss out on visas.

Also bear in mind some countries reach their country quotas before the end of the FY. Iran ran out of visa numbers on Sept 20.

Thanks, I tried looking and couldn't find anything so if you happen to know where it is, would appreciate the link!

Also, I know that the monthly numbers are in the Visa Bulletin, but where did you find out where the visas ran out by a certain date?

Still keen to hear first hand from anyone who got their interview and subsequent visa in the final month!

Someone in another forum posted a link to a message on the Ankara embassy website (they do Iranian visas) to that effect.

If you browse some of the forums you'll see people reporting on receiving visas in September. Also if you look on the wiki page for DV lottery in the references section there's a link to a spreadsheet (titled something along the lines of CEAC 2013 results) with visa decisions by embassy and date.

Thanks SusieQQQ, I will check it out. Also, slightly off topic, but after doing your interview, do all lottery visa applications go to Administrative Processing, or is it only ones which require extra assessment etc? Because I'm guessing that if your application is straightforward and doesn't go to AP, you're more likely to get your visa in time. Sorry if this has been covered, I've read tons and tons of posts on this forum and another forum and haven't been able to work out exactly what happens as people seems to skip over that part.
