Johnson City couple accused of selling children for sex film ring

JOHNSON CITY (WATE) – An East Tennessee couple is facing a list of charges, accused of selling their children to take part in sex films.

Connie Sue McCall, 40, and her husband, Ronnie Lee McCall, 61, of Johnson City have been charged by a federal grand jury.

Paperwork shows the couple was selling their four daughters.

Prosecutors say the four girls were between the ages of 5 and 16 when this happened.

They also say their parents were strung out on bath salts at the time.

Investigators believe the children were taken to several places, and forced to perform sexual acts. The family was also found living in unsanitary conditions.

"Just filth and extremely deplorable," said Investigator Debbie Dunn with the Johnson City Police Department.

Investigators say their six year old daughter had head and body lice, flea bites, ring worm, and severe dental problems.

"The amount of tooth decay, you can imagine, was extremely painful. She had black teeth, and holes in all the teeth, just really inexcusable," Dunn said.

An investigation found the couple's four girls had been forced to perform sexual acts in different parts of Johnson City. The US Attorney's Office picked up the case after they learned one of the children had been taken to South Carolina to make porn.

"When you have parents allegedly making money off their kids through pornography and exploitation, even after 20 years, it's one of the worst cases I've ever seen," said 1^ST Judicial District Attorney General Tony Clark.

Connie and Ronnie McCall are behind bars. In addition to state charges, they face at least 30 years in prison, if convicted.

Authorities say the girls are doing well. They are safe, clean, and in the custody of child protective services. They hope all four girls will be adopted as a family.

If we as grown ups don't protect the children of our future we are doomed. I met a college student the other day in my office. He decided to tell me his whoe life story of how he didn't know his parens and after his grandmother died they put him in a foster home. He had lived in every town up and down I20 here in Texas. After the things he told me, my heart hurt for days. I am sure he has a good psychiatrist, I just wish he could have been my kid I would have taken care of him so well. I told him to come and see me anytime he needs to talk.

SOme people may not be aware but I learned than many orphanges have programs where you can take kids for weekend stays, there is no obligation or even expectation. Some people end up becoming greater involved but for some they share what they can of their life.

Of course My experience is with a Private Orphanage and each one will have their own policy but it might be something to check into if anyone is interested.

There are no doubt hundreds or more Church Orphanages,

some might be close by and you don't even realize it.

The problem is, when we speak about what to do with such people: The children will be effected by it.

They are after all their parents, and we must remember, what you see growing up IS normal... even if you know it is not to everyone else.

We are horrified at such stories more than the victims are in some of these cases because that is all they know.

So as much as I would love to see these two get whats-commin to em...... I wouldn't want to do more harm to the mental health of the kids.

Until drug addiction is prioritised as a problem that needs to be fixed rather than throwing addicts in jail this horrible behaviour will continue. Sad, very sad for those concerned.

With drug addiction assigning blame to the addict for being an addict doesn't solve anything which is exactly my point. Until and unless the problem of drugs is pursued as a problem of addiction rather than criminality the addicts will inevitably descend into spirals of behaviour that can lead to this type of situation where everyone loses, the addicts and their dependents and everyone touched by them. See that if you wish or continue on the same path and change nothing so that these stories will continually emerge for you to tut tut over. Your choice.

That's your logic Danno, not mine. WHERE do I say that these people should not be punished for their crimes? Where in did I say that once a crime is committed it can be swept under the rug as if nothing had happend? WHERE DANNO, where do you get this from? What I did say is, you want to rid society of this type of crime? Then the time has come to stop criminalising drug addicts and get them help BEFORE they descend into criminal depravity, not point fingers in disgust AFTERWARD and tut tut about how evil people are. That is a pointless waste of everyone's time and resources, but you like that don't you? Wasting money and time on the trivial because that seems to be the only thing you can grasp onto.

When people put hard drugs in their body they well know the risk of what they can turn into... when that happens and they harm others to this degree, sorry, I am all out of sympathy.

You on the other hand not only "understand their situation" .. you frigging blame me for not providing and elaborate center and transition program for them to try to dry out in.

We really need to address drug abuse more in this country. Locking drug addicts up just gives them more access to drugs because prison systems are corrupt and people can still sneak drugs in.
