Testing and Interview Stage - Police Certificate/Clearance Necessary?

So my husband, the beneficiary, just received his notice for his Adjustment of Status interview, slated for November 19th (my birthday, of all days!). We're incredibly excited and happy, but also kind of terrified. We've read over the instructions, but are still unsure of some things, notably:

- Is a police certificate required for AOS, from either his home country (England) or the state we live in? I was under the assumption that this was required for EVERYONE, but the instructions give me the impression it's only for those who have been arrested/convicted before. I've looked over the boards and seen instances where it's required in the absence of arrests/convictions, but only when the fingerprints don't turn out during the biometrics. As far as we know, he had no issues during this process.

-It says to bring photocopies of supporting documents (I'm presuming they mean passport, birth certificates, marriage licenses, etc). Should I also be prepared to bring a duplicate packet of what I submitted, just in case they happen to not have a form I previously submitted? I heard about this happening frequently at the UK embassy, which I know is different, but this is still US government we're talking about here.

For what it's worth, he is adjusting status from in the country after coming over on the Visa Waiver Program, and we ended up getting married 2 months into his 3 month stay (we had been dating for a year and a half prior to marriage, since November 2011 when he first came to the US on the VWP)

Thanks for any advice you guys can impart. It feels like everything is suddenly moving so fast!

You don't need a police cert unless he has been arrested.

And it is a good idea to bring a copy of what you originally sent, just in case. I guarantee you nothing is lost, but it's just a safe practice to have a copy handy for you.

Good luck!

I am about to file my 130,485...etc... and I don't think I need police clearance because of no criminal history.
