I have been to Algeria twice before but my visa has expired in May. I had that tourist visa for 1 year, I was supposed to get the family visa which lasts 2 years but I did everything thru VISAHQ.com. Their services suck and are expensive, not only did they get my middle name misspelled but also provided me with a tourist visa instead of a family visa even though I sent all paperwork and proper documentation, these people kept hanging up on me whenever I would call to complain ...just plain RUDE. I would like to now send it directly to the embassy in New York , but their PDF files are so weird, the dates from my passport don't even fit. Has anyone had a similar issue? Or can anybody help me figure how to obtain an Algerian Visa? ANy input will help. Thanks in advance.

In 2008, my familial visa was only good for 90 days with multiple entries. Last year, I got a familial visa good for only ine year with multiple entries. Never heard of a two year visa.

My husband had to send his consular registration card, our family book, a letter saying he takes full support of us when there, $160, my passport, and two photos. The app was typed online and then printed out.

We applied directly to the consulate in NYC.

I actually just got back yesterday from 10 days in Algiers:) I have gotten 2 visas from the New York consulate both really easy. Just send the paper with the invitation letter and passport photos, remember to send a prepaid express envelope with a tracking number for them to send your passport back to you. The visa I got this year is good for 1 year with multiple entries with a 90 day total max stay. That is the longest I could get, I have heard of the 2 year visa, but I think that is only if you are married to an Algerian. Good luck, it really is easy:)

I'm married to an Algerian and I've never gotten a 2 year visa. I've "heard" of people getting a lot of things but I've never seen it for real.

Hi welcome back!

Does the Algerian embassy issue the validity duration based on how you describe how long you need in your letter? They seem to be quite flexible? But I didn't know it could be a year. I got one for 3 months when I went in July. I asked for 3 months in my letter. It's already expired so I need another one for November. In my letter this round, I asked for 6 months. If I knew, I'd ask for a year! But how do you ask that and what should you put in the invitation? Thanks a binch!
