Hi everyone, I am done filling out all the paper-work for the Adjustment of Status. I'm in the Last stretch! I just have to include the required documentation for each.

However I do Have an Important Question Pertaining to the Photos For the AOS:

I went to CVS, Walgreens and Walmart: None of them Stamp the photos with a date : How is immigration going to Verify that the photos are indeed less than 6 months old? ( back in Canada, our photos were always stamped!)- I am still going to write my Name and A-number behind each photo

The other Issue is that I wear the hijab (Islamic head-scarf), I have sent many photos to US Immigration for previous applications and have always checked the photo requirements, However The guy at Walmart told me that as of August the rules have changed And I must show my hair and ears? I looked everywhere for such a requirement change for the photos but I could not find anything. ( even the guy at CVS mentioned something)...On the US Government website, it still says that you can have a head-covering as long as it is for religious purposes.

Does anyone know anything about the rules changing?

hi! about the date of the photos. Usually some camaras puts the daye and the hour when the pics were taken. Mine doesn't have it as many others, so you can write it on the back of your photos (if you are sending pictures as proof of bonafide marriage). For the passport photos, you just need to write your name and the alien number. Its very simple! about the hijab, If the government website doesn't say anything about changing their rules/ procedures, keep doing what you are doing. Passport photos allows hijabs and others kind of clothing if its for religious purposes. As long it doesn't change, I shouldn't listen to the cvs guy :)

Thank you So much for your answers. However your response raised another question in me LOL....Its not mandatory to send proof ( photos ) of your relationship for the adjustment of status, right? Its just something that you can do if you wish....If I understand correctly

I have lots of photos, I just didnt know if I should include them or not.oops8rh.gif

There is no need to date-stamp the passport photos. I'm sure if you arrived and looked NOTHING like the passport photos they'd ask for new ones... but it doesn't matter anyway because the one on your GC will be the one they take at biometrics. here are the requirements: http://travel.state.gov/passport/pptphotoreq/pptphotoreq_5333.html I personally used a website to do my passport photos.

And no, you don't have to send relationship evidence with AOS, but some people do send some small bits of evidence in an attempt to avoid an interview (only possible if you arrived on a K1).
