Hi everybody, good news!, I got my K-1 VISA approved, as matter of fact it is already on the postal office waiting to be picked up first thing in the morning, We decided to tackle one challenge at the time and I have a few questions that I would love for you guys to help me, so here they come:

  1. What are the intermediate benefit I can achieve right away? SSN?
  2. What goes first SSN o drivers licence?
  3. Am i allowed to drive with my Mexican drivers licence, k-1 visa and passport?
  4. how about a Drivers license?
  5. Is there a tip or shortcut to be able to work? how fast was your process?
  6. From the moment you entry the country, how long did it take you to be able to work?
  7. On the Supporting Evidence for the Form I-485 im required to have a medical examination
  8. If you received a medical examination prior to admission as a K nonimmigrant, then you are not required to have another medical examination at time of adjustment as long as:
    • Your Form I-485 is filed within 1 year of your overseas medical examination
    • The medical examination did not reveal a Class A medical condition

Is the medical test I took before my visa appointment a valid medical test?

You can get your I-94 info from this site > https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/request.html

And yes, you can file for your SSN > http://www.visajourney.com/content/ssn

Check with your state about what is needed to drive there. Most states will want you to have at least the EAD before getting a US license.

There is no shortcut for working. You need to marry, get your certified marriage certificate from the court and then file for AOS. You will file for the EAD and AP at the same time. It takes 2-3 months to receive the EAD/AP. http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos

If your medical was done within a year of filing for AOS, then you are not required to get a new one. However, you need to have all the required vaccinations and if you went through Juarez, you most likely did not get them at the time of your medical and have them marked off on a properly filled out DS-3025. You will need to see a civil surgeon for that. You will have to call around to find one that will not insist on a new medical or charging for one anyway. Try this thread to see if any of these are near you. It is long but worth going through if you can find one there > http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/231026-civil-surgeons-who-dont-rip-you-off/
