  • Interviewed on 10/7
  • VO apparently thought she was applying for a CR-1 and asked her to fill out another DS-230 in front of her (to include part 2)
  • Passed interview
  • Case has updated several times on CEAC, currently in AP status
  • We received this email that I provided below, and it seems they are asking for another DS-230 to be completed (although, they certainly don't make it easy to spot)

Here is the email, how do you interpret it? What should I do? Can I call someone and say "Hey @$$hole, you already have (2) original copies of that form. Why dont you check again?"

The DS-230 is a part of packet 3 and was submitted to the embassy around August 25th. The embassy accepted those documents and then sent us packet 4, which allowed us to schedule the medical screening and visa interview appointment. It’s impossible to schedule the medical screening and visa interview without packet 4 and it’s impossible to get packet 4 without submitting packet 3 (which includes DS230). Therefore, how can they claim they need that form????

I am tempted to fly over there and communicate my frustration at the Guangzhou Embassy in person. So sick of these games.....................

I think they are asking for D-230 only which it is indicated in red. Do you see expiration date next to the other documents? I think they are good. You just need to submit a new D-230.

is quite possible there's a 'documents error' between what was given over and what was actually in the casefile on interview day.

IMO, give over (now) what's asked for, via the CITIC Bank courier. If you want to vent your frustration TO THEM, ABOUT THEM, then include a 'nicely worded' coverletter with the packet .

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

We are going to end up doing that, assuming US Travel Docs can't facilitate that communicate for me. The unfortunate situation is she is currently in Hunan province, and the closest citic bank courier is in Changsha. I dont understand why it can't be sent via EMS?

Thank you for the reply.
