Dude, she is black. I also like Sheila E, Grace Jones, Nichelle Nichols, Salathan Lathaan, my list goes on.

You think because she biracial that makes her less black. I guess you would see it that way.

NO, of course she is technically Black...... if you want to make that stand, but her hair, her nose, her lips, her skin color and make-up, her body style all say other wise.

BUt you are right, she could check the box *Black* if she were applying for collage or wanted to enter "Certain" beauty pageants but she has lost all those physical features which make Black women notable of African decent.

Claiming an attraction for her allows one to play the *I love Black woman* card without really having to do so.

Now personally, if I were to "go there", I would really do it.

I think I relayed before about a certain Black girl I used to work w/ years ago...... I found myself attracted to her in personality but also physically.

She was Black in every way and from West Memphis (Southern girls what can I say).

I should try to find her On FB ... just to see what she looks like now.

Ah maybe not a good idea, I have done that before and it ruined every sweet memory I had..... best leave well enough alone.

Lets get real, a weakness for Halle Berry is no measure of love for the attributes of Black women.

If you are going to claim a fondness for Black women, at least pick one who would be called "Black"

in a Black neighborhood.

SHe is more akin to "A little coffee in her cream."

Marv, I would like to introduce you to a Black woman.

skin1.jpg

You did not introduce him to a "real black woman." You introduced him to one of the many types of black. This woman is just as acceptable as Halle is. And if your picture really represents what black women look like, how come she looks nothing like me and I look nothing like her.

The problem with white men is when they see a black woman they find physically attractive, they throw her in the "mixed" category to ease their conscience as to why they would find a black woman attractive. Because if she is not mixed there is no way you can find her attractive, right?

I think you are wrong. From my perspective and experience.

White men do not think of Black,... more black.... or less Black.

Sure we notice the variance but to put it plainly they are all black folks.

I have only seen this "noting of variance" among Blacks, even the slang names they would label other Blacks with, was interesting. (often derogatory)

NO, if a person is dating a person who appears to have any black in them, they are always considered -Dating a black chick or Black guy.

Again I am sure the contrarian types will discount my experience but it comes from a broad exposure, so I think it is valid.

I am talking about how it is acceptable for non black men to have out of wedlock babies. Is that better?

Did John Kerry have an out of wedlock baby?

Sorry Danno, one drop rule. Halle is just as black as any other woman. And for the record, this young lady is beautiful as well.

Halle Berry is a skinny blonde bimbo with a tan

she don't count

I would pretty much guarantee you being Bi-racial makes you less of one race or the other

Does Obama being bi-racial make him less white ?

Hahahahaha sorry, John Edwards.

And Halle's natural hair is not blonde. She has white/black hair. You can't classify her as a blonde with a tan. She is biracial and considered black. Now when people become more accepting of blacks and black/white biracial children these peope will be more than happy to call themselves white or fudge ice cream. But as long as society tells them they are black and they receive "black treatment," they will say they are black.

I like Queen Latifah also but she also represents what most men think of black women as being overweight. Look at this YouTube and skip the first woman as it is Halle. Hehehe

In some ways being bi-racial is "less black."

As far as social groupings in the USA, Bi-racial still qualifies one as black.

But again, genetically speaking bi-racial lowers ones genetic grouping.

For instance, we know a large number of Medical situation are uniquely different for Blacks than say Asians.

We also have seen the worlds fastest runners come not just out of Africa but from Kenya. Though the USA has many more runners and with much more support, yet genetics wins over training and population.

We see certain Asians consistently test the Highest on IQ testing, it doesn't matter where in the world they are living they seem to group the same.

When a Skeleton is found on the road side, it can be quickly identified by race due to a number of features, presumably this would be more difficult with a many race person.

Would we say a German Shepard is less so if it were in fact half poodle?

There is no technically. she is black. Being dark skinned doesn't lend more credibility to your race. Your statement is the exact type of stuff light skinned and dark skinned women have to go through. Your features don't count, it's what's inside of you that matters. Light skinned women and men get chided for not being "black" enough, dark skinned women and men(me included) are told we are too dark to be considered attractive. It's utter nonsense.

I would pretty much guarantee you being Bi-racial makes you less of one race or the other

Ask the tea party, birthers, and anyone else who thinks our POTUS is from Kenya. To them, he's black and that's what's wrong with him.

She is not just right. Overweight black women are the last to be picked and suffer a lot.

I have never been an admirer of being overweight no matter the color.

One of the first things you notice when you get back stateside is the number of people who are very overweight and the number of people who look liked they just dug through their dirty clothes pile to dress.

Black women struggle with this in greater numbers than anyone though I did see a Time magazine article which claimed Hispanic Children are more over weight.

Obesity and African Americans

  • African American women have the highest rates of being overweight or obese compared to other groups in the U.S. About four out of five African American women are overweight or obese.
  • In 2011, African Americans were 1.5 times as likely to be obese as Non- Hispanic Whites.
  • In 2011, African American women were 80% more likely to be obese than Non-Hispanic White women.
  • In 2007-2010, African American girls were 80% more likely to be overweight than Non-Hispanic White girls.

When you look at Black& white photos of people (of any race) not many people were fat..... what happened?

Manual labor had a lot to do with that. Although the food was bad, the manual labor ate up the food, thus metabolism was higher. But eating the same food in 2000 added with desk jobs and less physical exercise is a contributor.

But every black woman does not look like the picture above. Many people believe that a woman over 150lbs is fat by western standards. Black women have more but and breasts, this is just normal. But black women who are healthy and shapely are still vilified with the black women who are obese and unhealthy and are all lumped into one sum. Again trying to create ideas in the mind of people that black women are unattractive.

You really can't stop can you?

We both know this picture does not accurately represent all black women. But this is his idea of what black women should look like.

I suspect the automobile and the expansion of bus lines.

I have gone over seas and been basically on foot, walk to the metro or bus stop and within 2 weeks I can feel I have lost a few pounds.

IN the US It is amazing how close the bus stops are.... and how we try to get the closest parking spot, if one does not work out or do something physical the weight will come to most of us.

Of course the photo represented the extreme sad case, I thought that was obvious.

Why would any one ....of any group be vilified for a physical characteristic they clearly don't have?
