After reading many posts, I am feeling like my supporting evidence is not enough. I only sent 1 photo and my previous visa to India with stamps. The photo didn't even have a date. I have a ton of other stuff I could send, but didn't realize I could have sent it with the I-130 package...directions made it sound optional ("if any"), not an absolute requirement. I'm realizing my mistake now.

Lots of people have said, "just wait for the RFE", but others have just had their petitions denied outright without ever getting an RFE. I've seen a few people say it is possible to send documentation after the fact to be added to your file. Anyone out there succesfully mailed additional documentation without getting an RFE? How would I know where to send it? My file is confirmed still with NBC.

Thanks!

Sorry...I'm not familiar with your particular case...if you're already married, rest assured unless there is incriminating evidence as to why your spouse should not be allowed in the US, the Govt is required to approve a visa. However, if they don't have enough documentation in advance to support your application (regardless of visa type), they will simply ask you to send them what they need. May be that they need nothing else, may be that they need more. The only disadvantage you might have is a delay with providing them missing requested info. Your case being at the NVC now has nothing to do with what you sent or didn't send. The NVC is where a large number of our petitions are being processed through now. The other facilites are processing more specific applications....from what I've been told, our I-130's will very likely not be transferres anywhere. Unfortunately the processing time at the NVC now appears to be at a minimum of eleven months.

I have known people who didn't send any evidence showing bonafide marriage and yet they were approved without any RFEs. They can't deny your application just because you only sent one item. Like you said, it is not a "must have" document. In the worst case scenario, they will ask for more evidence and then you can send more details. I am almost certain about this. As far you didn't outright lie about your citizenship, marriage etc., you will be ok. Don't stress!

If your petition is approved without an RFE and you want to have more items in the file prior to an interview, you can include such items with the civil documents that you send to the NVC as part of the immigrant visa application package.

I think you are confusing NBC (National Benefits Center) with the NVC. The NBC is handling the initial approvals of I-130 petitions, whereas the NVC is where the Financials and the actual visa application with supporting documents are sent and their fees paid before the petition is sent to the beneficiaries consulate. There is a monthly thread about NVC. This month's thread http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/457530-nvc-filers-october-2013/ will be useful (especially the first 2 posts). Good luck to everyone

Edit: as far as the RFE...you will have to wait until it is received. As others have said, it's a good thing in a way as someone is working on your case.
