Thank you Carhy, I will do that (contact them both). What amount of time did it take you to hear from them (Congressman/Senator)

Yes contact them. They'll need to you fill out and return a consent form before they can contact USCIS on your behalf. Normally they have an aid that does all the work contacting USCIS and getting back to you. There is no problem with getting both involved. I went to their web sites and downloaded the consent form for both a senator and rep, and got them both to inquire for me.

and to get good news from USCIS?

We did it on my wife's AOS application. They were publishing 6 months at the time, but going way over. The rep's office I called directly and spoke with the aid and he was right on top of it. We communicated back and forth via email on every step he did, and what he got back from them. In 4 days we got notice that process should be complete within 6 weeks, but he said normally when he got that response, the card can within two weeks. It did, and he followed up to make sure we got it, and in case we needed any more help. Wonderful dealing with them, even though politically I'm opposed to most of that reps positions.

The senator's office I did everything through their web page. Never talked with anyone. But they did follow up with me, got the same response and their feedback was about a weeks behind the reps. I give both of them high marks for helping out and being there when we needed them.

Even though in the end, it took almost 8 months to get her green card, those that were waiting and not doing anything were taking 10 to 12 months. Before I went the rep and senator assistance, I did the request via the customer support system which just gave the standard form letter telling us to wait. We probably would have got her card in 7 months if we didn't waste time with that.

Hello VJ members, today I have sent a letter the ombudsman office stating my problem, I have been told that they also help a great deal. Tomorrow I am sending a letter to my senator and the congressman, hope all this works out. It has been a very long wait

Members, thank you all for being in here. I had an appointment at my local office about my over one year NOA2 wait,I was told that they have my RFE response, good it is not lost. But worse of it all, they told me that a decision should be made in four months. Is that realistic? after waiting for over a year and being on RFE review for over five months, what do you think guys? Also, I contacted the office of my senator, they asked me to fill in a privacy release form and they are inquiring about my petition but I dont know if they can have it expedited. Do you think the Senator will really help or pressurize them to make a decision before four months? I dont think there is any fairness in USCIS? If they havent lost my petition and everything is okay, then why do they take so long to make a decision?

The USCIS appears not to like the attention of Senators and congressmen. Yes its not fair they've sat on it so long, and they know they've messed up sitting on it so long, unless they had to investigate something and that can take a while. So getting the attention of congress often spurs them to dig out your file from where its been buried and finally get it done. There's no guarantee it will happen quickly now, but when you're over due, generally it will help move it along.

Wow, congrats. Finally. I think you meant your I-129F is approved. K-1 visa is next step after I-129F.

Thank you for walking with me in this journey. Sorry, I meant K 1 petition approved.I can see on your timeline that you are almost towards the interview, when is your interview. What papers have arranged for the interview, what should I need to prepare for the interview. Have you done the medicals? Do you wait for the embassy to tell you when to do the medicals or you can do the medicals before them asking?

Thanks, I have done ombudsman yesterday.....senator would be last resort and we will try that as well, but i even heard they cant' do much , all i have been hearing till now someone has started looking into our papers as we speak, i just don't know if its so hard for them to tell by looking our papers if it is approved or not.

Yes, I am waiting US embassy in Jakarta sent packet 3. Speaking about what kind documents you will prepare I guess you can go to US embassy portal here since each consulate has vary when processing K-1 visa. I am not sure which consulate will processin your K-1 visa application. Do you know?
