Hey guys, my eligibility date for citizenship is just around the corner and before I say anything I want to thank everyone here, because you are the reason why I came so far since the day one without any lawyer/paralegals help.

Now lets get to business. I'm applying for 3 year rule (through marriage) and here are the documents that I'm sending with along with my application.

Last 3 year tax returns

Utility Bills for last 4 months

Selective Service

Life Insurance card copies

2 signed passport photos

Do you guys think its gonna enough evidence to submit?

Go to IRS's site and get the TAX RETURN TRANSCRIPT. It's the receipt of your tax returns. The copy of your tax returns would work too but then again they are very @n@l about your tax returns you have filed so... tax return transcripts.

They are free, arrives in a week or two.

If I remember it correctly, you need to submit copies of the proof of citizenship of your spouse, and they will ask for the original at the interview so, let it be birth certificate, passport, naturalization certificate, whatever you have, make copy and prepare to present the original.

Also, just prepare the most recent utilities bills, they won't be too @n@l about it.

Anyway good luck! You are almost there.

isn't that a "joint" ultility bill? I know what that latest bulletin says about evidence, but it seems like many IO's don't know the difference between the legal meaning of the words, Or, or And.

We went to exactly the same field office for our AOS for our citizenship, already had proof I was a US citizenship, showed our divorce papers and marriage certificate or would have never issued my wife a condition green card in the first place. Same thing for the removal of conditions, then the same thing again for citizenship. But in the latter was proof of any legal "joint" documents, health insurance, wills, a lease or home and vehicle ownership.

You may only have to send in three years of tax transcripts, copies of both sides of your green card, a check, proof of your spouses US citizenship, and the application, not sure why they want two passport photos, don't even use those anymore. But good to have all this stuff during your interview.

Have to go through that M-476 manual, N-400, instructions, and the latest supplements. Oh, and if you have any parking tickets, better bring in proof you paid those.

I personally provided copies of my own state id (which showed my address)as well as my US spouses's state id (which showed his address which was the same as mine) and US passport as well. It doesn't hurt to have more - even though they didn't ask for it.

You're going to have to bring originals when you go in anyway. You want to ensure you're providing evidence of a co-mingled life. If the Utility bills are joint and to the same address great or evidence of separate bills which come to the same address.

Take that copy of the ROC packet you made and add to it from the date of the ROC submittal to present day. If you now happen to have wills or a new joint account or the beneficiary is now working and they added the USC to their employer's benefits. Utility bills are about as good as the paper they come on as anybody can be put on a utility bill. I would should other things that the marriage is still bona fide like trips together. As was suggested above, use IRS tax transcripts as they are what the IRS actually received and are much better proof than the 1040 and the W-2s. Plus you do not risk the IO thinking you missed a form on your tax return as it must be a COMPLETE return and if you filed electronically you may not know what forms were submitted.

Good luck,

Dave

Guys thank you so much for your responses. I guess I didn't make it clear about my taxes, but i have tax return transcripts from IRS, but 2011 says "tax account transcript" and the rest is return transcripts. Do you think its acceptable for them?
