Approx. time to complete interview (in and out)

Hello All,

Finally have an interview date of Nov. 5 at 8:30 a.m. after having to reschedule the original date given.

New date is great as I had a trip pre-booked to the UK so now I can attend the interview with him.

We were meant to be in Scotland on the 4th but will now fly there on the 5th after he completes the interview. I am wondering if anyone can advise on what is the average time (in and out) to complete the interview process as we need to book airline ticket to Scotland that day.

This is all relative as it relates to my fiance's case in Seoul... but...

Go early as there is usually a line and it takes a while to go through security. Pay attention to the rules and don't bring anything prohibited that may slow you down. For example- not sure how they would react if you bring in your luggage for your Scotland holiday.

Getting checked in and the interview didn't take her that long. I think in total from the time she entered to exited it took about 90 minutes.

Our appointment was for 9:30. We arrived INSIDE the Embassy at 9 ( we were outside for about 8:30). We left the embassy around 12:30.

However, I wouldn't add the stress of worrying about racing to the airport to the stress of the interview process. If you have to fly on the 5th, make the flights late afternoon or early evening (assuming flying from Heathrow or Luton).

This is very good advice. My fiance had her appointment first thing in the morning and got in the queue by 7:20. She was the first K-1 applicant in the line and she was done and out with her phone in her hand by 9:15. I think the earlier appointments seem to go a bit faster and as the morning progresses, it takes longer to get through the system. At least that is what I've noted, I'm sure it varies on a day by day basis. I would say the advice of getting a later flight is solid advice. There's always something to do in London to kill time after the interview and it would sure beat stressing over getting to the airport in time. My basic theory throughout this process was to plan for the worst case scenario and hope for the best.

My husband's interview was about 2 weeks ago and he was there for about 4 hours total.

I had a London K1 at 08:30 - in about 07:45 and out by 10. I suspect as others have commented that later interviews will take longer.

Mine was long and complicated as I have two kids that I brought in with me. I got in at 9am and didn't leave until 12.45pm.

But add on an hour outside because you arrived at 6:40 am. Those that arrive later may get straight in, but they take two hours waiting inside for their turn.
