pcc requirements

Hi,

I am confused about getting the PCC. I understand that it needs to be from a regional passport office, but does it need to be the one closest to where the applicant has lived or can it be the one in Delhi since he will have to be there soon for his interview anyways?

What I feel is, It needs to be from that office from where ur passport has been issued.

You have to obtain PCC from your current city ( Nearest PSK Center ). It does not matter where your passport was issued.

It used to be from the office under whose jurisdiction applicants resident address was, if that has changed in recent years than I am not sure.

we tried to register in delhi online but it wouldn't let us because it wasn't within his address jurisdiction, so you all were right!

i'm glad we are figuring this all out now, thanks to this website. direction on getting a police certificate is not very clear and we would've ended up being one of those couples with a 221 at the interview.

It certainly take a while to get the PCC but I have also read about some ppl and their experience which was a quick turnaround.

As far as I am aware for India applicant is allowed to take the PCC with them during the interview.

Honestly on here I have not read any case where visa was rejected coz of PCC, most of the time consulate would give additional time if required and if that was the only thing pending.
