Tracking status online?

I promised I looked for this, I really did!!

Our packet was received at NE a few days ago as you can see in my sig. I understand that I can track the progress of things through the internet somehow, but have not been able to find the details.

Any suggestions?

Click on: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis

Look on the right lower side under help with. Put in your case number and information will appear. Unfortunately, the information tends to be very old by the time it is posted on the site.

Thank you!! I'll try that. So then, I assume I won't have the case number until after I receive my first NOA??

Yes, you're right, you'll have your case number only after you have received your first NOA.

Finally got our NOA's today - and the help desk person told me it would be at least a MONTH before I could track anything online!!! SHEESH!!!!!

So much for government effeciency!

It probably won't take that long, took mine a day or two before it appeared online.

I will not take that long, I had a similiar situation but my status was viewable after a little over 1 week.
