Hello VJ Members,

I just wanna share my experience on my medical at SLEC.

October 16, 2013

I got at SLEC 3:30AM, there's a few people in line. At around 4am people started to arrive. We waited in our line for about 1 and half hour before the security guard started to give number and let us t get inside. He asked for the passport, 2 vertical photocopies of passport, online registration and letter of appointment. I do not have the letter from NVC or the letter of appointment from USEM, I brought my Confirmation of Online Appointment and he honored it. Applicants are divided into 3 numbers as i could remember, online registration, senior citizen and manual filled up PDS.

At 6AM the registration started. The guy at the window asked for 1 pc. 2x2 colored picture, passport, 2 vertical photocopied passport and letter of appointment. I told him that i do not have the letter of appointment nor the letter from NVC. I gave to him my NOA2 and case status that I printed out from ceac.state.gov and Confirmation of Online Appointment. He asked where did i get my case number i said thru phone call, after checking he gave back my NOA2 and printed case status. Had biometric and picture taken. Then he told me to proceed to 5th floor for payment.

Paid the amount of 9,812.00 at the cashier on 5th floor. After that the cashier told me to proceed to 3rd floor for x-ray.

I handed my passport together with the OR to the receptionist on the 3rd floor, she gave me form to fill up. She asked me to put the 1st and last day of menstruation at the top of the form. After filling up the form she instructed me to proceed to the dressing room then wait for my name to be called for the chest x-ray. I was the first one called. The X-ray was pretty quick. After that i put on my clothes again then proceed to 4th floor.

I went to the 4th floor for laboratory/blood samples. There's no receptionist that time so I went to 5th floor to have my vital signs, height and weight, and eye test. Then I went back to 4th floor. Submitted my passport and OR to the receptionist and waited my name to be called. Then went inside the Laboratory room. Scanned my finer then the nurse asked when is the first and last day of menstruation then she collected my blood sample. Then she told me to go to the CR and have a urine sample for pregnancy test. The woman in front of the CR gave me the urine sample container and asked me again the first day and last day of my period. I gave it back to her after collecting the urine sample. Then I waited again to be called. After 30 minutes or so, she called my name. Gave my passport back together with the OR. She told me to go to 2nd floor for immunization interview.

As soon as I get to 2nd floor there's a lot of people waiting. Handed again my passport and OR to the receptionist then she gave me a form to fill up and sign. Returned to her after filling up and again waited for a long time. it took me almost 1 hour before they called my name. I get inside the doctors' area. Had to scan my finger again then the doctor asked first day and last day of menstruation, history of illness that i did not have like high blood, diabetes, TB, etc.she also asked if i had any operation before, animal bites or being hospitalized. Then she asked if i had chicken fox before, I said yes, she asked if i have any marks of having it, I showed her the mark in my arm. Then she asked for my vaccination, i said i'm not sure because i do not have any scar. She looked at my arms and checked if there's any sign of vaccination. After that she gave back my OR old me that i will have 2 vaccines MMR and Tdap. Then she told me to go to 5th floor for physical examination.

On the 5th floor as expected a lot of people are waiting. Handed again my passport together with OR to the receptionist. After a long wait of 2 and half hours my name was called. The receptionist gave me a number gave back my passport and OR. When I get inside the room the doctor asked me scan my finger then started asking few question like first and last day of menstruation, illness history, any animal bites, been married, gave birth, any operation. Then she asked my to take off all my clothes and lie flat on the bed. She examined teeth, my breast, then my stomach, she said to move side way to check my rectum. After that she told me to go back to US counter again. Told to the receptionist that I am done with physical exam. She told me to go to 3rd floor floor for check out.

I went to 3rd floor the receptionist put my appointment time and date at the back of my OR. Oct. 17, 2013, 10AM.

I never expected that this was very nerve-racking procedure. Worried about the result...yay!

Second day, October 17, 2013

I arrived At SLEC 9AM though i am scheduled for 10 AM. The guard asked me to scan my finger. He stamped my OR with Medical Report on Process. Then when he checked my files on the data base he said proceed to 2nd floor, immunization. My heart jumped with soo much happiness.. no more sputum test, and no more delay!!!

I handed my passport and OR to the receptionist waited my name to be called. There's a few people compared to yesterday. After 1 hour my name was called the receptionist gave back my passport and OR. I get inside the immunization room, scanned my finger again, the nurse asked again the same question as yesterday first day and last day of menstruation, illness history, etc. Then she gave me 2 shots 1 on my right arm and the other on my left arm. After the vaccination she told to to wait on the ground floor.

Waited for an hour before my name was called, the guy asked for my passport and singed some document. Then wait again for another hour. The nurse on the window called my name asked for 2 pc. of 2x2 picture. Then she let me checked the CD with my name and birthday on it. then she gave it to me together with the vaccination record. She said that they will forward the result of exam to US Embassy.

I head outside and had a delicious lunch at the restaurant beside the SLEC...smile.png
