That is why I was saying earlier it is crazy for the Pubs to fight it. Sit back and watch the melt down that is coming. The Mid-Terms will be a blood bath if they can just put a muzzle on Ted Cruz and not give any rape interviews.

I agree the recent behavior is the best reason to repeal Obamacare. It will be used to beat us repeatedly...always blaming the "other" guy. We gave the china to the monkeys! It is going to get broken.

But until we constitutionally require the congress to meet their constitutional duty to produce a budget,,,by FIRING them if they don't...and having new elections, they will do this over and over. It sucks, but we let them get away with it and we give them more weapons to hit us with. I think we have "battered voter" syndrome.

I was not sure about that myself...though I do remember an election where a guy named "Clayton __________" was running for Governor of TX. He was a shoe-in for the win until a reporter interviewed him on a rainy day on the porch of his ranch. The reporter asked if the rain interfered with his ranch business and he replied "Yep...but if yer gonna get raped, just lay back and enjoy it"

He lost the election and laid (pardon the pun) the path open for GWB.

Perhaps that is the reference?

I was not sure about that myself...though I do remember an election where a guy named "Clayton __________" was running for Governor of TX. He was a shoe-in for the win until a reporter interviewed him on a rainy day on the porch of his ranch. The reporter asked if the rain interfered with his ranch business and he replied "Yep...but if yer gonna get raped, just lay back and enjoy it"

He lost the election and laid (pardon the pun) the path open for GWB.

What I was referring to Gary is that Pubs need to go about the business of protecting our civil liberties and bringing spending under control. They need to shut their yap about abortion, Gay marriage and all that ####### that keeps getting them in trouble and distracting from what needs to be done

Anybody with one eye and half a brain can see what massive govt entitlements have done to some minority groups and inner cities. Aid programs that require no conditions just perpetuate poverty not cure it.Anybody who thinks the answer for places like Detroit is more Govt money is insane.

They have also got face the fact that we have got to make Military cuts.We can't be the world police force any longer.We can't afford it

We have got to stem the tide of Illegal immigration, having 12 M illegals in this country working, while almost the same number are mashing their butts collecting benefits is insane

We have got to stop handing out Billions in foreign Aid.

Pubs have got to admit that health care is broken and that we need real sweeping radical changes, Obama careis insane but so is an 2000 dollar trip to the ER for four stitches and the massive burden of Administration we currently face.

See my friend here is where I think you are mistaken... and it is not because I am a social conservative, I think my predictions on this board stand for them self as I don't even consider my own slant when I make assessments at all. In fact I predicted on Sat, that the Budget deal would be wrapped up by weds.

What you are suggesting is that the party who promises free stuff will be able to get less people to the polls than the party who promises tax cuts for the upper half of the population. That the Right can monopolize civili liberties protection.

That the Right at the grass roots will out-work the left over the issue of tax reform...... even though half the people don't pay taxes and many actually get a refund,

Who do you think turns out to make campaigns work?

-Paid staff

-People fighting for a cause.

OUtside of social issues, the Right cannot field an army to even show up at the polls and vote. Romney knew that which is why he tried to transform his image into a social conservative. Remember he lost due to lack of voting at the base.

You are not alone in your estimation on this topic but it only works in a few districts, not on a national campaign.

What I want you to do is do a little checking, and see what percentage of the GOP identifies as Social conservative / religious Right... those who hold those issues as "very important." My friend you will see, to alienate this huge base would be a disaster of monumental proportions. It is simple math.

Not to get too long but-

THe Right is in a jam, (of it's own making) It barely wins national elections with them and it could never win without them because trust me, to push these folks to the side would (and I predict will) create a split which moves Democrats to certain victory with unbridled Liberalism as the result.

I do not understand the particulars involved, but haven't many of those states opted out of the ACA? For instance Texas opted out and their premiums doubled. Is there a correlation possibly?
