I think it doesn't depend on the delivery date but on the shipping date for the GUZ processing. As you checked the case no. on Aug., there are some cases were delivered at the end of Oct., but it seems to be processed.

Zhaozi, if online status CEAC shows AP, that means the Consulate received your file, case open.

Zhaozi, if online status CEAC shows AP, that means the Consulate received your file, case open.

Noahsmama, How long does it take to change the status online once your case was delivered in GUZ? I guess my case will be delivered either tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.

I think the custom clearance event finished in GUZ around July 29. Consulate received on August 23 (Online status changed to AP). 9/9 I received P4. My case took a bit longer due to Consulate was relocating to the new building. Yours might be a little faster.

don't forget to call DoS Hotline for status.

The appointment date will get set, then the P4 sent out via postal mail

but DoS Hotline will know of it prior to receiving the P4 document.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Thanks noahsmama.. haha, it looks like it was a free pass for them with those easy questions... We were so nervous last night when they were having the interview.. Her sister helped them out during the interview (waited with them), and I wanted to see a copy of the letter to see if it was a full approval (or approval with missing stuff).. at least now I'm giving it my official stamp that it passed..

well, on to the next step.. it's not over until they come in the front door.. so I copied their passport numbers now and doing the tracking for that now..

less than one day, and I have a passport status already : "Passport Status : Your passport is still with post".

don't forget to check over at ceac.state.gov - usually it's administrative processing for that first week after the interview, but DoS Hotline will know actual status, so call them as well.

Also, once ceac.state.gov declares 'ISSUED' then expect 1 to 3 weeks for the visa packet to wind it's way through the IV Unit, into the mailroom, picked up by the courier and out the door.
