HI,

I am now married and living in the USA and have my green card and EAD. Myself and my husband are travelling back to the UK for a visit in the New Year. As my passport is still in my maiden name (miss) will this cause any problems at US/UK customs? Also as I booked the tickets to UK on-line my ticket is in my maiden name as I forgot to up-date the info on my on-line file is this also an issue?

Thanks for any help.

No problems with UK Customs, make sure to book your airline tickets in the name that is in your passport, the airlines wont let you fly if they don't match, as far as UK is concerned you are a UK citizen, and will pass with no problem.

Upon returning to the USA you will need to show your green-card to re-enter, you will queue up with the rest of the US residents at customs. Having a copy of your marriage certificate is also a good idea to have.

Have a nice trip.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

R,

Customs won't care at all. Immigration probably won't either.

The tickets might have been an issue had you updated your file and had them issued in your married name - the name on airline tickets is supposed to match the name on your passport.

YuAndDan,

Immigration. Everyone - citizens, residents, and visitors alike - queues up together for Customs.
