I can do a drug deal in broad daylight in Washington Park, there are some areas in STL cops and EMT won't go, look in Oakland where those two dudes started shooting at someone in the afternoon with no fear. What was truly disturbing about that was the 13 year old walking by who didn't take off running, but just checked to see if he was hit and kept walking, as if he was used to it. I've been to white neighborhoods where 4 cops cars are used to pull over an old white guy speeding.

The relationship between African Americans and the police is complicated

by the pattern of greater criminal activity in black neighborhoods, which cre-

ates a dilemma for the police in terms of what should be the proper balance

between maintaining public order and civility and aggressively fighting crime.

Vigil (1989) studied police relations in a high crime Los Angeles housing proj-

ect and described the duality of residents' relations with the police. Either

there is no police presence whatsoever and crime is uncontrolled, or the police

engage in violent and aggressive attempts to control crime.

Thus, the central dilemma in African Americans' relationship with the police

is fear of the police because of historic abuse, while at the same time desiring

police protection from criminal elements that are disproportionately present

in their communities.

Here is the issue. Cops can't tell the difference between criminals and regular black folks. Look it up, there are tons of stories of black professionals in suits and ties getting pulled over and asked the same dumb questions. Are you in a gang? Where are the drugs? Where is the weapon? What are you doing in this nice neighborhood? Yet, they wonder why black people can't stand cops. We're all suspect, no matter what we wear, say, or even act like. That is on them to fix. Work with the leaders in the black community, reach out to them and show they are on the same team.

This is why SAF is such a joke. They frisked every black person and hispanic in NY but 99% of those came up with no weapons. If they target criminals, they'd have a better chance of cracking down on crime. But they go after kids who sag their pants because this to them says criminal mastermind, while the real criminals walk by them every day, and they aren't always black.

And for the love of Pete, TM wasn't the worse thing in the black community. I've posted about dudes that had much worse starts in their lives, and they made something of themselves. No one knows what he could have done with his live if given the chance.

I see you come by in a Honda Accord..then I probably don't bat an eye..( I can put you in a beamer in my scenario if you wish)

I see two young black males with dreds , pants hanging off their ####### that keep slowly riding by houses looking..I am going to investigate

Same thing if i see a rosy faced older white man who hangs around a playground all the time

When a crime happens acceptable. But for the most part, they are not pulling someone over because a crime has just been committed. They are pulling them over for DWB and DWB with a nice car. My brother just left W.Virginia thank God. They couldn't stand to see him driving a nice car with his government I'd hanging on his mirror. They even followed him to work one day and then towed his car when he went in his building. They had reason to believe he was partaking in illegal activities. Police officers come in many colors. Are you saying cities so called run by blacks don't have cops that could racist?

When a crime happens acceptable. But for the most part, they are not pulling someone over because a crime has just been committed. They are pulling them over for DWB and DWB with a nice car. My brother just left W.Virginia thank God. They couldn't stand to see him driving a nice car with his government I'd hanging on his mirror.
