Jason,

Apply for an EAD, and when you get it re-apply for the drivers license.

Or wait until your AOS is approved, and when your Green Card arrives re-apply for the drivers license.

..... My US driving license is only valid until my I-94 expires, what do I do when this happens? I'm not insured if driving on my UK license.

Thanks again.

Jason.

I'm applying for EAD and AOS at the same time, so let's see what happens. Thanks.

Jason.

It may not be possible to renew or extend it, it all depends on your state DMV, some states require a greencard to obtain a license. Sounds like your state is more lenient though. Perhaps post in the Moving to America Forum to see what other VA'ers dhave done or look up your local DMV and their requirements.

Nothing I could see on the website so I called them up and there isn't anything I can do to extend my driving license. The only other thing they'll accept is permanent residency card so I have to hope my AOS comes through before mid Feb. I can get an International Driving Permit but my current motor insurer won't accept that and will terminate my policy when my license expires :(

Thanks,

Jason.

Same thing happened with my husband his license was issued only for 3 months, but with your AOS receipt you can renew the license, at least here in the state of Missouri. You will not be considered K-1 status, you will be pending residency status. My husband's expired, and luck has it he got pulled over by State trooper today. We are waiting for the receipt, maybe the judge will show some mercy on us, if not we will just pay the fee.
