I just got back from El Nido with Mira and we were happy to find out that our case number was assigned and packet forwarded to the US embassy in Manila on Oct 7.

Our NOA2 was AUG 22.

Hang in there if you are waiting, your time is coming very soon.

Best of luck to all.

First off, congrats to you as well. NVC has been taking a long time to receive the visa applications From CSC, so the next thing you should do is relax and prepare for a 6-8 week wait for your case number. If you receive your case number sooner, GREAT, However the trend lately has been for NVC case numbers to take 6-8 weeks.

We were approved Aug 22, NOA2. Our packet was forwarded to the Manila Embassy on Oct 7.

i called NVC a couple times a week, they asked for my USCIS number, they would then tell me that they didn't have it and insist that we wait 8 weeks to inquire.

Finally, I called after our vacation and the lady on the other end of the phone asked me,

"What is the name of the beneficiary?"

When I heard that question, I knew that we had received our case number.

So,

Be patient,

Keep calling NVC at the 6 week mark until your receive your case number.

I never received an email.

I received my hard copy of the case number about a week after the application was forwarded to the embassy.

Best of luck and stay positive, you're almost there. :)
