Hello everyone,

I am in Italy.

I faxed my "Applicant Statement" requesting the interview to the Consulate in Naples last Friday, Oct.11, 2013.

When can I expect to get a reply with the date of the interview?

Grazie

I contacted the Embassy via email and they confirmed that they have received our case. They also attached a zip file with all of the Packet 3 documents and requirements. I asked if they would physically mail Packet 3 and they said no, just email. (I assumed they would mail it from reading all of the reviews). In the Packet 3, it only says the beneficiary needs to email the Applicant's Statement (which is only a paper that he signs his name). All of the supplemental documents are to be presented at the interview. Is this true? Do we just wait for the interview to hand in all physical documents?

Hello LUAL,

Yes, all of the supplemental documents are to be presented at the interview. You just wait for the interview to hand in all physical documents.

My fiancè and I have an immigration attorney helping us with our case and he confirmed this.

I have always had difficulty emailing the Consulate in Naples. My emails always come back to me, they don't go through. I don't understand why, so I faxed my Apllicant's Statement to them which is also ok to do. Our attorney said it takes about a month to process the interview apponiment and about another month from then for the interview date itself.

I think my fiancè and I have a little black cloud above us, we submitted the I-129F on November 16, 2012 and are still caught in this maze. I thought italian bureaucracy was bad.

Have a good day.

dabachso....

I'm so sorry you are having all this trouble. Can I ask where you are applying from? Fiancé visa? Reason being, Naples has been extremely quick with their responses (less than 24 hours always) and emails go through without a problem for me. I have had the process flow rather smoothly and fast...I'm already setting up an interview and we sent in our petition in September 2013. My friend just got a green card approval and her process took 3 months as well...we are both DCF in Italy. She got an interview appointment after 3 days of faxing the Applicant Statement and it was scheduled a month later. Neither one of us had used/are using an attorney and it's real smooth.

Any reason it took almost a year for petition approval? Is your case complicated?

Hi agem:

No, my case is not complicated at all.

I guess I have just been very unlucky.

My I-129F sat on an officials desk in Vermont for 5 months because it seems the official had too big of a work load.

My fiancè got a Congress women involved to get things moving.

In the meantime, I finally got my interview. It's scheduled for Nov.13th. Lucky it's not a friday.

Thanks much for your reply.

Wish me luck.

Ciao

A question.

Do I have to bring copies of all the documents that were filed with NVC?

Hi agem,

I am DCF Italy as well. Your post is nice to hear! I submit the I-130 on Monday!!

I'd like to be ready for the next step. Any info what is in the email for Packet 3? We have all the other documents ready, already.

Also, how does Naples schedule their appointments? On-line? Do you call?

Thanks!

Dabachso...so sorry but happy you are interviewing! I see why now...you are in the US :(. DCF filers abroad are usually very lucky in that our cases can take just a few months if not weeks. I am DCF Italy so if you have all your ducks in a row, you can literally have an interview appt set up two months after your petition is filed. You can realistically be done, start to finish, within 60+ days...30-35 days for I130 petition approval and then if you schedule your interview immediately after approval notification, that's another 30 days out. Real fast.

Bellavita...great news! If you send in on Monday (not sure where you're mailing from or if you are going in person), they should have it filed and approved if nothing is wrong within a month or so, 5 weeks. You'll get an approval letter from Rome in the mail and an email from Naples with the info packet. Be aware there is a new procedure - DS260 online replaces DS230&231. Looks on the Naples website for everything you'll need as far as documents. Typical original passports, birth cert, marriage, divorce and death docs, photos, military, police certs, affidavit of support if you're using a sponsor, proving domicile and of course, bonafide relationship (docs sent in w I130). Vaccines and med history as well.

They send you an applicant statement and when you are ready, you fax that over and within a day or so, they usually email you your appt for a month out. You don't send any docs - you bring all originals/copies to your interview.

That about sums it up! I will be ready to go soon and will ask for interview within the week. Crossing fingers!!!!!

Thank you. this is very, very helpful.

We will hand out I-130 in person on Monday morning. (I'm the US citizen, husband ITalian)

So once Rome mails us and Naples emails it will be Packet 3, correct? That is when we can fill out the DS-260? We cannot do it before their confirmation, correct?

Yep, we have everything and double copies of everything. These items will be brought to interview, so only online docuemt is the DS-260?

Once they send back an interview date, that will include the medical appointment info as well?

I'm hoping I can stay through the interview sine things are moving so quickly. I have some family circumstances back in the USA that I may need to tend so...

Keep us all posted!!!!

Grazie mille!

Yes...yes...yes ;)

If you hand in tomorrow, I'd say from the experience I've had, you should get something first week of December from Rome (mail)/Naples (email...yes an info packet). Have to wait for that to do the DS260 bc you need your case # and that comes w the Naples' email.

If you are ready when they email you, I imagine you can have an interview by the beginning of January. Don't quote me on any of this but as others on here can attest, it WILL go that fast if you're ready. All medical info is included in the packet yes and medical appt will be given at time of interview, it's the day before. Medical in the am, fingerprints at 2pm (bring passport and photos) and then the next day is interview in the am.

Hi Dabachso and Lual,

Any tips for us still in the process as to what you've been asked in Naples?

Our package just made it to Naples today, and our CEAC changed from "in transit" to "ready".

Will the Consulate get in touch with us, or should I send them an email stating that our CEAC status changed to ready and that I am willing and ready to email them the Applicant's Statement?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks!
