DS-260 is not for the K-1 visa, its for immigrant visas only as stated on the USEM website, at the very bottom of the linked page is the notice for K-1 visa applicants - there it states you use the DS-160 ONLY.

You do not need to bring anything else but the DS-160, the old DS forms are no longer required.

Those that scheduled for their interview before 7 October can use the old DS forms if those are what you have completed., but you can just as easily use only the DS-160.

Odds are if you bring the old DS forms and the DS-160 to the interview they will only keep the DS-160... IMHO.

We "scheduled" our interview in Aug for the actual interview to take place on Oct 22nd. So that I am not confused I am going to do the DS-156, DS-156K, DS-230 and the I-134 because we "scheduled" prior to Oct 7. Right?

I just had my interview today, sis. I have all the old forms (scheduled my interview on Sept.9), but you will be asked if you have completed DS-160 at the tent (before entry) and that's what they will accept. It will make your life easier, because everyone else who has the old forms will REPEATEDLY be reminded by the checkers to fill up the blanks with NONE or N/A before dropping your files at Window 39. Some who went there as early as 4am got slowed down because they have to do this checking and re-checking.

Good luck on the interview, sis! Wear your best smile! biggrin.png

Yes you can use the old forms because you scheduled before Oct 7th, you don't HAVE to use the old forms, USEM is still accepting the old forms for a limited time. Being you have done the DS-160 already... just bring that.

Hi Hank,

I just filled out the DS-160 for Fiance and all went well. I also read the NEW Embassy instructions and I can't find if I'm supposed to fill out a DS-160 for each child/K2 as the previous instructions noted which forms to fill for K2. The kids are listed on the new DS-160 but it never asked for their passport number so I'm not sure. Anyone run into this yet?

Thanks.

Yes a DS-160 for each applicant.

Please help if I understand this correctly. If you made an appointment before Oct 7 you can still use the old forms and not need to fill out a DS 160 form or do you need to fill out a DS 160 form regardless? My fiancee made her appointment for Nov 27 and did that on Oct 3. She is not that computer savvy and I would have to try and help her do the form online and also I dont have any passport photos of her to upload.

Thanks for your time.

At this time you pretty much need to do the DS-160 being you have not done any of the forms yet (it will be simpler, some of the old forms will be dropped from online). Have your fiancee scan and email a passport photo to you then you should be able to "assist" with the DS-160 ;) .

Hank,

All her forms are done already. We have done the I-134, DS-156, DS-156k, DS-157, and DS-230 Part 1.

So what you are saying is that I still Have to do a DS-160 form also?

Thanks for helping.

Added: Also I just read that this is needed before scheduling an appointment for her interview. But she has already scheduled her interview without this form so am I missing something or am I just worrying too much?

Ah, didn't know the forms were done already. You are fine to stay with the old DS forms. Don't bother with the DS-160

Thanks Hank!

You really are an asset to this website. Now to just keep praying and hoping for her to get her medical done and passed next month. And then interview.

Hoping for a Feb or March 2014 arrival of my love.
