Creating an account to receive email updates from USCIS

I have already received word of my NOA1 for the I-130 petition because I called the customer service phone number and they told me mine was approved back in September but I never received my email notification that I signed up for. Does anyone know if it's ok to create an account on the USCIS page to receive emails in the future if I already sent in the G-1145 (to receive an email of the application acceptance)?

This is the link that I am referring to when I talk about creating an account to receive emails from USCIS about my case's progress:

Yes, of course it's OK

The reason I wanted to make sure is because it says this right at the top of the "create an account" page:

"READ THIS BEFORE CREATING YOUR ACCOUNT: If you have already created an account, do not create another one. Duplicate accounts will be deleted. If you need to change information in your account, sign into the system and click on the "My Account" link on the side menu."

I wasn't sure if I already signed up to receive an email for the I-130 acceptance if it would cancel that out if I sign up for an account to receive emails. Sorry if that's not so clear

i did both, sent in the G-1145 and created an online account. that phrase you are referring to is if you create multiple online accounts using the same receipt number, then they may be deleted. but you can sign up online also.

I can't get it to create an account for me...I keep getting errors. First I get database errors, and then I get "this email is already in use" error and then I tried a different email address and I got a "this username already exists" but I can't sign in with any of the usernames, I get "an error has occurred, please contact technical support"

please use a pc running winders and only internet explorer v7 or better.

Give it a shot, try again, and (of course) report back when able !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Man am I burning through email addresses...

PC, Windows, Internet Explorer, I finally succeeded in creating an account (after changing my password after it was locked on the first attempt), and got an email saying my password has been reset, please go ahead and log in.

So I attempted to log in, at which point, I got the "An error has occurred. Please contact technical support." message.

OK, cleared my cookies as I had to reboot for other reasons, tried to log in, informed that my account has been locked due to too many failed logins (again, just the one!).

I had emailed a technical support address I found on the weekend, I wonder if they will ever get back to me.

I've been having the same problems for the last 2 weeks. Doesn't seem to be anyone to contact, and no solutions.

Any luck yet?? This is so frustrating! Even when I tried to create an account I never got far enough to link my receipt number with account. It would say "500 https internal error" well please let us know if anything changes!
