You did not use any facts to refute the post I made. Our surplus of 2000 turned to huge budget deficits under Bush-Cheney, as they cut taxes, started 2 wars without being able to pay for them, and a massive expansion of Medicare, and - VOILA!! Deficits!!

Now that another president is also running deficits, and I'm not saying rightly or wrongly, suddenly the Republicans have "found religion" and claim deficits are worth shutting down the government and ruining the full faith and credit of the government.

Maybe some solid compromise by the Republicans would help.
