I filed for I-130, I-485 and I-765 on September 23. USCIS received it on September 24. I received NOA for my I-130 and I-485 in the mail on October 3rd; however not the I-765. Am I supposed to get NOA for I-765 or not? If this is not right, Should I contact USCIS about this to make sure they don't somehow forgot about my I-765? I am still waiting for my biometrics letter,,, Is it too late? Any advice is appreciated

hi there,

in my case-after the 3 texts/emails, i received only one noa in the mail-the one for I765..come to find out the other 2 were mailed to my street address instead of my POBox-mailing address but i had no idea until it was almost too late-i almost missed my biometrics appointment because the post office kept returning the mail to them as undeliverable..I kept calling and calling the uscis and stayed on the phone for hours-they filed a change of address for me even though i never changed my address, and told me to wait 15 days until the request was accepted,i insisted that they do something about the problem-that i might miss my appointment, and finally they faxed me the bio letter and my appointment was a day away!..

so anyway-if i were u i'd wait 2-3 days if u do not get anything in the mail-call USCIS and make sure all 3 letters were mailed out.

good luck

I mailed the I-765 out to the Chicago Lockbox separately, after receiving the NOA1 for the I-130 and I-485. Still nothing and it has been just under a week, grrr. His TN expires May 4th :(

Hi Annie,

Just under one week is kinda early to be grrrrr about not hearing !! :-))

Did you send the form to get email notice of receipt that comes before US Postal mail.

In our case, the packet was signed for in Chicago on 3 Feb and we got email notice on 9 Feb.

So possibly your email will come soon . . . if you sent the email form thingy.

According to time line of others, the hard copy in mail won't come until a week or so after the email notice.

Second part . . . why didn't you send in I-765 along with the I-130 and I-485?

They can all go in together; and you would have saved a couple of weeks.

And what about the I-131? It could have been sent at same time also.

Yes, long story short, our BPA at the Port Huron site where my husband renews his TN every year told us to send the I-130 and I-485 together, wait for the NOA1, then send the 765 and 131. He also half jokingly told my husband if he sees him again at that border, (same BPA who has been renewing his TN for the past four years) he will feel inclined not to renew it again for him, basically telling my husband to get his act together and apply for PR status (my husband has been renewing his TN for the past 8 years this way). Don't get me started about the Detroit BPA's, which is why we switched to Port Huron -_- We sincerely were not sure year to year if we would stay here in the States which is why he renewed, so no dual intent is ever really occurring with us! LOL.

Shoot, as I am reading this, I'm stupidly thinking he didn't have to apply for the I-131 because he wasn't going anywhere...but he needs to go out and come back eventually to activate his green card visa!!!! *Off to get that form together* :bonk: Wow...dumb dumb...
