Someone I know has filed N-400 since March of this year , completed the process of finger printing & interview since august , They received an N-14 after interview , All requested documents were submitted on due date in August & still no decision has been received .. Has anyone else been through this ? Is the wait time supposed to be this long ? Can any expediting actions be taken ?

If http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/413889-n-400-march-2013-filers/page-45 is any indication, it looks like you're running a bit behind schedule, but I wouldn't necessarily see it as a cause for alarm. In most cases, the government would let you know if they needed something from you. If you have concerns, you can always contact them, but all they may tell you is to be patient!

Usually if someone has an interview and they get an RFE the USCIS has up to 120 days to make a decision. So if your friend interviewed in August it looks like USCIS has until sometime in November to give them a response. After that, they can take USCIS to court and force them to make a decision on your case.

I guess it depends on how busy the local office is.

mine took almost 7 months from the date i sent the N400 to the time of the oath.

6 months & 24 days.

local office was L.A. Office. 8,000 new citizens every months. So i guess is understable.

good luck.
