Sorry, I forgot to finish that post. How would I find out where the case was processed? Would the USCIS site provide that information?

Did he file here in the United States? I was asked by another user if I filed at an "NBC" or "local office". Which did you use?

Since May they have stopped the sending to local office and bascially stacking up all these poor waiting people for months with no activity, because they got to bogged down.

Someone here on VJ has spoken to NBC and they are reporting working on October 2012 petitions. At this rate January folks might get looked at by January 2014 (they are telling every one waiting 6 months more ) thast the January to May folk) and on and on.

I know the USCIS website is reporting 16 months (But thats because their stats are all askewed.).

But its a wait none the less and you also have to keep in mine although previous poster from Italy went fast fast every embassy has their own pace, their own queue to have slots for IR1/CR1 visas.

Some embassies are very busy some schedule out long ways. (Like Cambodia and Yemen its a 8 to 1 year wait for interview for them. This is after case complete at NVC.) So imagine that.

I watch over the case complete interview thread and I believe I have seen maybe one or two folks interviewing at the Georgia embassy you may want to look it over check it out.

Look up from August 2012 Interviews to present November 2013 Interviews (thats the name). Have fun.

Not exactly, he was stationed in Fort Hood but he was deployed in Afghanistan so he filed at the USCIS in Chicago, we asked what to do and the USCIS told us to file there as if he were living abroad.

- Civil wedding: September 10th, 2012

- I130 sent to the USCIS in Chicago on January 2013, while my husband was deployed

- Interview at the consulate in Naples, Italy in August 2013

- In the US since November 18th, 2013

- Green card in my mailbox on January 9th, 2014

Silvietta, could you tell us where was your case processed? It should say on your NOA2 hard copy smile.png

I try to search for this information... Is it one of the emails I received from the USCIS and the NVC??

Your case was expedited then.

Also, petitions have stopped being transferred to local offices at the end of July.

Customer Service has been saying they're adjudicating October, or Nov or Feb or whatever files for about 6 months now. I wouldn't believe anything they say. We've seen March and April approvals lately

16 months is a national average. Doesn't mean it will take this long. Hopefully Overland Park will help clear this horrid backlog..

USCIS, but it doesn't matter now since your case was expedited due to your husband's deployment.

Really?? I didn't know it... And actually the only reason why they knew he was deployed is 'cause of his address in the forms (an APO in Afghanistan), we didn't know we could file for an expedite case...

Oh. It was probably enough to (auto)- expedite your case then. I think.

There are only two NBCs. One in Lee's Summit, Missouri and one in Overland Park, Kansas :)

What does your NOA2 (approval notice) say? at the bottom of the page there should be the address of the office/center that adjudicated your case.

Sorry I can't find it... Me and my husband both received a mail asking us to establish communication, to tell how we wanted to receive the next ones (traditional mail or email) and also to let them know if we were having an attorney. Then other emails from the NVC telling us they received the payment and what we had to do, nothing else

That's ok :) It's not relevant for our regular, non-expedited petitions anyways :)

There's lots of different rumours and information given straight from the horse's mouth about processing times (that turns out to be incorrect since they probably just want to get you off the phone!), but at the end of the day, we just don't know. It will be approved when it's approved. We just have to hang on tight :(

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.
