My fiance barely made it on the long trip from Sierra Leone to Dakar last night.

It took 4 days with ground transportation and the usual border hassles through the 2 Guineas, The Gambia and on to Senegal.

I was very glad to hear he finally made it..... :)

The trip took forever.

He actually befriended a fellow Sierra Leonean who....get this......is a best friend

of the medical doctor there, Dr. Robert Rahmi.

I thought it could not get any more perfect than this !

This friend took him everywhere he needed to go, took him in with his family

for accommodation and took him to the medical.

I thought cool we will have no problems.

I get a call from him waiting for his turn at the doctor and then hours later

he called saying the doctor will not give him a DS3025 vaccination worksheet, I had

drilled him in advance to not leave without it.

I called him back to get every detail of the medical......the connection was so bad

that no conversation was remotely possible.

I then immediately emailed him in hopes he will get to a cafe, which are poor too

by the way.

So, I m sitting here clueless as to what happened until the lines will clear.

Tomorrow is the interview.

We have last minte details to discuss and no communication.

On edge once again !

I forgot to mention.....the doctor said noone ever requested a vaccination worksheet and

was confused about the whole thing.

I hope my fiance will be able to print out my email with the exact explanation

of what it is and why we need it and show it to the doctor.

I pointed out that on the bottom of the DS3025 worksheet it says :Give copy to applicant.

Maybe in this particular country it is really not neccessary but from what I read here

on VJ it may cause an AOS RFE and a lot of hassle with civil surgeons here not willing

to just tranfer the vaccines to a I693A supplement, without any proof of the vaccinations already done.

So far he has nothing in hand to proof the vaccinations......only the brown sealed envelope for the consulate which sometimes is not enough.

Very confusing the whole thing.

Hi,

I read your other post, and I am SO glad he got there...

I don't know all the 'in"s and "out"s with a K1, as we did a CR1, but I wonder-can you not get the vaccines done at a civil surgeon in the states when you adjust status ?

Surely, someone with K1 experience here can clarify this ...

Yes, I could have it done here all over again but it would cost a lot and you have to literaly

fight with them as it is not necessary to redo the exam / vaccs if it was done already.

It is also harmful to vaccinate all over again ... we would have no proof of any record

of the vaccines being done wihout a copy of the DS3025 which he is entitled to receive.

It says so right on the form : Give each applicant copy.

This whole vaccination process is so flawed and stupid. There is a serious lack of communication between the USCIS, the doctors in the foreign country and the civil surgeons

here.....noone has a clue how it all supposed to come together......someone enlighten me

if I am wrong.

The doc in Dakar is not willing to give him a copy, he said noone ever asked before.

I don't know about all the vaccination stuff but I just wanted to say, I'm so glad you heard from him! :) I just got home from work and came here looking for an update to see what happened.
