now Ryan and I have an important question, can we have our honeymoon outside of the US? like Virgin Islands or somethign? Will my K-1 allow me to travel to that place?????????

If you leave the US, even enroute to a US destination, you can't come back without AP. Be careful.

You can always go anywhere you want, no one will prevent you from leaving. Now, whether you will be allowed back in depends on when coming back you will have to go back through CBP. If yes, you will not be allowed back without advanced parole.

My advice is not to push it. I'm not sure if it's allowed or not, all I know is if I was in the same position as you and finally got my visa after all the waiting, I would stay PUT! There are plenty of places you can honeymoon in the US. Best to be safe than sorry.

The K-1 is a single use visa for entry into the US. Once used, it cannot be used again. It does not "allow [you] to travel" outside the US or anywhere else since that is not its purpose - it's not a travel document, it's a single use entry document.

If you go to the US Virgin Islands directly from the mainland, then you never leave the US. You can fly back to the mainland.

If you go to the British Virgin Islands, you will not be allowed back into the US without AP, a green card, or a spousal visa. (The K-1 is irrelevant since you've already used it.)

Once you get marry and file for AOS, it will take 2-3 months to get AP. It could take up to 6 months to get a green card. If you leave without either, you will be stuck outside the US for a year until you can get a spousal visa.

Right, like others have said - if you take flight to the US Virgin Islands directly then it's fine. But if you have to transfer flights in PR or some other country, then you will run into problems on your return. Why not play it safe and travel somewhere in the US? Montana has great places for a honeymoon, also there are incredible deals on flights to Hawaii now.

Puerto Rico is part of the US. It is not another country.
