Our NOA-1 from CSC came June 23, and in late-October we hadn't heard a thing. I was getting nowhere with the phone calls and it wasn't long enough to write a senator, so I simply MADE them touch my file. I sent another copy of my marriage certificate with a note stating I thought I had accidentally left it out of my original submission. I got a touch, then an approval within a week. May be a coincidence -- but maybe not! Creativity never hurts, IMO. Good luck. ;)

Oh great idea!... :star:

It's total bull that they process in the order they receive. I've seen K1s at VSC get approved in as little as 9 days (recently too) while K3s take longer after reaching the service centre (i am not including transfer time from Chicago to NBC to service centre). Why do K1s get processed so quickly? It hardly makes sense since K1s and K3s still have to undergo the same process of interview and AOS after entry.

Anyhow, I read in another thread that maybe you should make them touch your file. Someone sent in another copy of their marriage certificate along with a letter stating that they think they "forgot" to include it the first time. After it was sent it, their file was touched and an approval came shortly after. It's worth a shot.

I wouldn't recommend trying this until it's really been a long time-ie, until we're outside of the processing dates listed by Vermont. Not only is this maneuver sneaky, it also takes time away from them processing other cases. Not to mention if we all start doing it, they're sure to catch on.

Oh yeah, and it's also dishonest...

i dont think this is dishonest or sneaky at all or is slowing down other cases! maybe you are one of the lucky ones who got their NOA2 fast. i'm waiting since august and when people from october are getting approved than i dont understand the working method VSC is using. there is nothing wrong about sending them a letter. they either put it aside or open my case to add the letter. BTW the processing times for I130 at VSC are still at march 12... nothing changed for a few weeks. i dont want to wait until they are maybe processing august officially - this could be next year around this time. maybe you can wait no matter how long, i cant.

thnx for everybodies input but i hate cutting corners. I always like to do stuff the way they are meant and supposed to be done. It is just disappointing that it just takes so long to get a approval for your wife, while they approve fiancee visas way faster that I-130's. Our life is on hold totally. But most of you know that already cause either you were or still are in the same boat as me.

*prays for faster processing. :(

No, I've been waiting since September 11. And technically longer than that since we filed our I-129F, ohhh way back in July, 2005. Of course that didn't work so now here we are again... But anyway, this process requires patience. That's a lesson not easily learned but valuable once you have learned it. And YES to send something saying you "forgot" to send it the first time, knowing full well you did send it IS sneaky, it's also DISHONEST and it takes them time to go find your case and needlessly put the new material in there, thereby taking away from other cases. If you can live with that because you're too self-concerned to wait it out, be my guest. I couldn't and won't. I can wait a few months. What's a few months compared to a lifetime? Not much really.

Actually during my absence on here for the hollidays among other things, i had a little time to imagine how they can process...here is one thought...: if for ex they check on the individuals...this can take time (depending of their backgrounds)..as they seem to be sensitive to each and every little detail of mistake perceived by them as little or bigger obstacles for the approvals they are responsible to make...Thus, during the time of this check process, they have to continue to work on other petitions...and so on...I don't know if they really proceed like that...but at least...i try to imagine something logic..they do that as on our part we perceive it as nonsens...

Mayve seniors in this experience might correct me...

Oh and also those who mentionned the "dishonnest" stuff...i would see it more as little white lies...
