NO, actually she was complaining that the Gov't would assign a small army of workers to close a monument that requires no personnel when open.

Wait, is this the same monument I heard about this morning that was being guarded by police who are working without pay? I could be wrong on that... I heard the tail-end of a report while I was getting ready for work this morning.

Either way, wouldn't it be true that the only reason there is need for someone to guard it is because of the protest?

All that aside, I'm not really sure I understand the complaint about shutting down "open air" memorials and parks. There are more to costs than just staff. There's upkeep, sanitation, and liability to consider, as well. Isn't this the same reason why closed schools are not just opened up for unstaffed public use?
