You see, the President's numbers have ticked up a couple points since the shutdown of the government while the Republicans' numbers have since absolutely collapsed to lows never seen before in history. See, Danno, there's a reason why the few sane Republicans that are left are shitting bricks sideways right now and working hard on strategies to take this train wreck away from the Ted Cruz's and Sarah Palins of the GOP and hand it to people that have not only the ability but also a desire to actually govern. These sane Republicans cringe when they hear Sarah Palin or Michele Bachmann or Ted Cruz speak these days.

Job approal for Obama is in the low 40s. For Congress it's in the teens. For Republicans in the 20s.

So Obama has about the same approval rating Clinton had when the government was shut down in 1995/96. Remember that Clinton won re-election in a lanslide in1996. Obama is serving his final term and will never run for office again.

Republicans have an apoproval rating far below that of Obama or the Democrats. They need to face re-election next year and by the looks of it, they're setting themselves up for the next showdown which they will lose all the same early next year.
