General Labor Job market - Athens, GA

My wife and I was still deciding exactly where to settle in the US. Since we both currently live in Brazil, we are both relocating which lets us choose where to go (not just relocating to where she already lives).

One of the places we are considering is Athens, GA. But one of the things we'd really like to know is how is the job market in Athens. I would be working in general labor, most likely, to start with.

Any opinions, tips, pros and cons of the Athens area?
