It's not about winning, it's about information. The census board doesn't take into account the folks we're talking about that live there from immigration marriages, or just the ones that come to visit and stay there. Just saying, you tend to throw your weight behind numbers you see on your screen, yet when countered with folks who lived there, you act like it's not true.

Actually you are *saying* that they don't take that into account .......but you have not shown that to be true.

Sometimes perceptions can be deceptive which is why I don't solely trust in my own experience or exposure on many topics.

For instance many people in the US are surprised to learn that

even after 40 years of mass immigration from 3rd world countries the USA is still more than 70% white.

And before it started we were almost 90% white, which ranked it as very homogenous.

I know Japan is diverse, as each island is fierce in it's geographic roots against the other.

I know each island is diverse, as the economic strata varies, one demographic vs another, and there are many levels.

I know each area on each island is diverse, and the people living there reflect that.

So, you assumed one extra word, ethnic, when I wasn't using it, at all.

IMO, ethnic diversity in Japan is almost non-countable - what is countable are the different strata and the different islands.

The major delineations focus on money and class and social structure 'place' in the hierarchy. Yet all of these folks are ethnic japanese. Class matters there.

To be honest, since we are going on "observations".... I have seen a lot of live footage of japan, their street scenes mass transit and my impression is - Almost 100% Japanese or at least Asian.

But I don't put much stock in my observations.

I rather yield to trusted sources.

I guess you are suggesting a big conspiracy.... as you have not produced one shred of proof to counter my source of facts.

Define urban experience. You must didn't read my post. I lived out in town with the Japanese. On base you had a ton of different folks, but I mingled with the locals. My japanese girlfriend at the time lived in Nagoya, which was two hours from Yoko, I had to take the train every weekend to visit her. I spent most of my time in main citites, away from Americans because that's how you get to immerse yourself in the culture. Just like when I lived in Belguim, Sicily, and Germany.
