Hi. We are currently waiting for our NOA1 hardcopy. I am just wondering, what is to happen after we recieve it? Just waiting time for NOA2??

09-27-13: Sent to Texas Lockbox

09-30-13: Recieved by USCIS - Confirmation sent by email

10-03-13: NOA1 from USCIS by email

10-15-13: NOA1 , hardcopy recieved

10-24-13: Alien registration nr was changed

11-12-13: NOA2 from USCIS by email

11-18-13: NOA2 , hardcopy recieved

12-04-13: Our case was shipped to NVC

12-10-13: NVC recieved

12-13-13: Got NVC case nr

12-18-13: Case sent to embassy

01-17-14: Medical exam.

01-23-14: Interview appt.

01-27-14: RFE sent

02-04-14: Approved

02-06-14: Recieved my visa

02-10-14: Poe FLL

Our NOA-1 harcopy took about a week sent by mail to my fiance. You'll get it soon. Some people get an RFE but I hope you don't since it would slow down your processing time to approval. We got NOA-2 in 38 days from NOA-1. Good luck.

Well, my fiance got an email saying they recieved his petition 3rd of october, but he had to change his address on the 9th, and that's what it says in the case status....so we're just waiting now, hopefully for the NOA1 hardcopy, and not an RFE!! 38 days, wow, that's quick :) But haven't u gotten your visa yet???

Hey there. Yes, after you receive the NOA1 it's just waiting until NOA2.

There is a website where you can check for NOA2, and that will be the first place you find out if you are approved (I think). Then they will send you the NOA2 hardcopy.

As far as I know, NOA2s have been quick this year especially from California Service Center. Things can change quickly, but I would be optimistic.

You can use this list to see others in your month and how they are doing.

Tip: don't check everyday. It's at least going to take months. Now that you have NOA1 you can relax a bit and just let time pass. Spend quality time with your fiance, watch movies together with the phone/skype on, plan your wedding, all that fun stuff. Go easy on each other and really support each other. When you're tempted to just cry because you havn't seen your fiance for so long, instead try to turn it into a positive about how awesome it's going to be when you are together next year!

Once NOA2 comes, the beneficiary will wait for more information for the interview. You might want to at least look into what you will need (Police check (but dont get the police check too early, as it only has 6 months validity), birth certificate, Co-sponsor if the petitioner isn't earning enough to support the beneficiary, make sure you arn't doing any illegal drugs as that results in a denial etc). Then you go to the interview and then you're done!

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
