Yes, you can. TSA is not immigration and will probably not ask for proof of your legal presence, but you can bring a copy of your NOA1 from I-485 just in case.

Illegal immigrants can fly within the U.S. fine. Nobody is supposed to check your immigration status on domestic flights. Sometimes idiots in the TSA give people a hard time incorrectly (e.g. for a "visa that is expired", even though it is not the visa that determines legal status in the U.S.). Just ignore them or go through another security checkpoint.

Of course, since you have it, bring it just in case.

I would scan it in so you still have a copy just to be safe. I would also scan your GC front and back when it arrives too as you need to send copies of it for the removal of conditions (ROC). I scanned everything received from the USCIS except for the 10 year GC so I have a nice complete package of our immigration process with complete backups.

Have a look at the TSA website for valid forms of ID needed for travel within the US.

Have a good trip,

Dave

Hi! I entered guam on a k1 visa, got married on august 24 then sent aos, ead and ap documents oct 8. My I-94 expires on oct 29. According to usps tracking, it hasn't been received yet so i'm just waiting on that. I've read that it's ok to travel to a different us state so long as i have my noa with me. I have booked a flight to atlanta to visit my mom and sister this oct 29. I have a connecting flight in narita, japan. Would that pose a problem with immigration? Also i will be staying in atlanta until dec 10 and i'm worried that it is possible that my biometrics appointment will be scheduled while i'm there. Any suggestions? Is it possible to walk in for biometrics in a state other than your place of residence?

Unlike the OP you will set foot in a foreign country and thus need two very important things that the OP does not: 1) you need a passport, and 2) you need documentation that allows you to re-enter the US. If you have advance parole (AP) or the green card (GC) you are good to go, but you do not have those. Once you enter Japan your AOS will be considered abandoned and you will need to apply for a spousal visa in order to enter the US again. You need a direct flight from Guam to HI or LAX or SFO or some other US destination. You cannot go thru Japan without problems. You can travel WITHIN the US using your foreign passport, but to even go to the Canadian side of Niagara, you need a GC or AP. Most likely the airlines will not let you board the flight without the proper re-entry documentation which is a good thing as it prevents you from loosing your AOS.

You need to change your travel plans so that you only travel to US states or territories and not the COUNTRY of JAPAN. Our BIO was 30 days after they received the packet. There is a way to reschedule. Not sure if you can just go anywhere in the US to do the bio.

Good luck,

Dave
