Guys, its awesome news that we made it to New York Times. However in order to make this effort a success and garner maximum attention from all ends, this is the best time to step up the pressure.... Now that we have got the necessary media attention, we need to send out our new letter earliest by next week, before the heat of the situation dies out...

We need to make sure that our letter covers all points that has been left out in the New York Times publication.... I mean the number fudging by USCIS, adjudication of petitions out of chronological order, un necessary RFE's to buy time, blatant lies and arrogant dont care attitude replies to our enquiries etc etc.... All theses needs to go into the letter... Basically the content in our letter should focus on adding 'fuel to the fire' that has been created by this New York Times publication.

So lets focus on getting this letter going by next week itself guys... 'We need to make hay while the sun shines'

I just got word that the article will be running tomorrow on the front page of that National Section! I'll let you know if I get a link online for it. (I'm going to go run out and get a copy, just because.) YAY!

Just got a reply from Neil Monroe from DailyCaller. He just wanted to know more about my particular case, how long we've been waiting, what part of Ireland I'm from, were the local politicians here interested, ( they're not!! ) , did we contact the bureaucracy in US, we're they any help. There are others here on VJ who can explain our situation much more eloquently than me so hopefully he will get in touch with more of you. I'm thinking of Kaylara, the dude , LoveMyTico , anuspras, etrangais , etc.

I received a USCIS stakeholder email this evening encouraging DACA filers from 2012 to refile to avoid a lapse in authorization. Just wanted to note this here so we can keep an eye on numbers and assess whether this big renewal period will impact fiancé and/or spousal visas again.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has recently posted a notice on its website with important information for individuals granted deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA) prior to August 15, 2012. If you were granted DACA by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement prior to August 15, 2012 or are a DACA recipient with an employment authorization document (EAD) that will expire in the next 120 days, you must apply for DACA renewal to avoid any lapse in your employment authorization or accrual of unlawful presence in the United States.

If you have moved since your EAD was granted, please visit www.uscis.gov/addresschange to update your address on file with USCIS.

I just posted this in the April thread.. I feel like the backlog will not go away. They set it up so they have to keep renewing and paying a fee. So here come the first renewals... and the backlog remains. I don't see them getting to the 5 month processing time by MAY.... No way in Heck

They certainly haven't fixed their staffing issue, so yeah, I'm looking at this email as bad news. USCIS let the backlog start piling up a year ago and there has been no consistent effort to perform fair and efficient processing since then... feels like "normal" is going to be a long way off.

I want to pull my hair out over this. Getting discouraged. I knew this wasn't going to be easy but what the heck.....

Obama can ease of restrictions for those tied to terrorism, immigration reform for illegals and now extensions for DACA's. I just want to be with my son and hubby. I checked processing times for Nebraska and shows 9 month wait. USCIS does not represent unity to immediate relatives abroad. So unfair.
