Sorry to ask ANOTHER question but we have waited one month for some sign of what to do next after 2 biometrics results have been rejected.

We were told we were going to have to send in a local police report which is fine but we don't know where to send it or exactly what they want.

I called USCIS today and the woman said that we could go ahead and send the police report to the address where my husband had his biometrics taken even though they haven't sent us anything saying exactly what they need yet. The police dept. here said to make sure to know whether or not they want it notarized. The woman at USCIS said she didn't know so I assume notarized is better than not.

Does it make sense to just go ahead and get it and have it notarized and send it to the office where they do biometrics in our area? Is that where they process such things?

Just looking for some advice if anyone has done this or what you guys think,

Sarah and Hicham

As notarizing doesn't cost that much, I'd just go ahead and do that. Some banks will do it for free if you're a member as well.

This is just advice, I don't know the actual answer!

I don't know if it is the same at your embassy but we forgot to get the police clearance translated to English and had a delay because of it. Good luck

In this case it would be a report from the local police in the USA I believe, not from his home country.

All background checks in the US are done automatically by the FBI for the USCIS and the petitioners are not required to provide a clearance from U.S. authorities.

This is what we were told both at the biometrics appts and also at our infopass appt I asked the officer if he needs a police report from the US and from Morocco and she said just a local one where we live in the US. However we still have no direction as to what exactly they need or where to send it but we're going to go get it this morning and send it where the lady at USCIS told us to even though I have a feeling that might be wrong. The police department notarizes clearance reports for free so we'll just have it notarized. I appreciate your responses and thank you!

sarah and hicham,

No, it does not make sense. Application Support Centers would not know what to do with such a police report.

By whom were you told that you would have to send in a local police report? Whoever it was, they couldn't tell you what it needed to contain or where to send it?

You don't write in this post what it was about your two biometrics that caused them to be "rejected", or what it means to be "rejected", but based on the little information that you do give here I would be making an InfoPass appointment rather than calling the 'Misinformation Line'.

[EDIT] I see now that you have been to your District or Sub office. Since in retrospect you have found that you didn't get all the information you feel you need from that visit, I'd go back again to ask further questions.

Yodrak,

Let me explain more. My husbands biometrics were rejected twice because his fingers are burned and very dry due to his work he had been doing in the past few months.

The USCIS phone line is who told me to send it to the office where we had biometrics but I agree that it sounds strange and incorrect. I just got off the phone with them again and this time she told me to get the report and send it to Missouri where our case is pending so that's what we're going to do.

I would happily make an infopass appt but this would be the second one in one month and we have to drive to Los Angeles which is about a 4 hour drive each way and it's not possible right now for me to take off work to do so. When we had our infopass appt. I asked what we would have to do if they were rejected again and the woman said get a local police report. I assumed we would be notified of the second rejection along with instructions as to what actions to take next.

Today my husband is going to get his police report and I am going to type up a cover letter explaining what and why I am sending it and I will send it to Missouri with my fingers crossed. I believe it is the only thing holding up his EAD which is causing him not to be able to work or to get a Driver's license in California.

Thanks again for all of your help,

Sarah

My last question is when I send the report should I iclude NOA1's from AOS and EAD to show case numbers or just print those up? What kind of documentation should I send?

Thanks!

Sarah,

Sending the police report to the NBC makes more sense. Yes, I would include a photocopy of the Receipt Notice to help them connect your mailing with the case file.

Are you saying that you have not been notified that the fingerprints were rejected a second time? Or that there was a second notification but it did not contain any instructions for what to do next...

Yodrak

Definitely. Send photocopies of those notices to make sure that the USCIS officer knows what case file to put it in.
