Does affect living in different states because of our jobs while waiting green card through marriage?

I live in NY and I got married and started the process for obtain my Green card. I have a job offer in Florida. My wife have a good job here in NY and we would like she keeps working in NY while I'm in Florida sometime and later we figure out how to move together again. We plan to keep traveling to see each other all the time.

**** Moving from CR-1 to AOS from work visa forum *****

It is a red flag, but they understand in this economy, needs must. You';d need to show strong financial ties, and that you visit eachother often.

I'd sit tight and wait to get the GC first unless you have already been married for years and/or have kids together.

This is the way I see it and an IO might see it the same way. A couple that is newly married needs time together to grow closer. If they choose to be voluntarily apart during those crucial early months/years then they are not that committed. If one of them decides that money is more important than building that relationship then maybe it isn't a bona fide relationship.

Really? IMHO, as long as they have all the other items of a "normal" couple, then living apart is not a deal breaker as far as the GC goes. It is a red flag as stated above, but as long as they can document it and explain it, they should be fine. They may not even have an interview so this may never come up until ROC. By that time they may be living in the same house. There are valid reasons for two recently married people to live apart for a short period of time. Living together does not show how committed people are--just look at the number of relationships/marriage that are failing here on VJ when the other person actually arrives in the US and they begin living together.

OP: Each situation is different, but remember that it is up to YOU to prove the relationship is legitimate.

I bolded should be because that is the imperative word there. Maybe there will be no problem or maybe they will get an IO who thinks like me. The point is that no matter how much documentation they have, there is a risk. None of us can peer into their minds. Seeing that this is an adjustment from another kind of visa and not knowing any other background, I'm inclined to wonder if it is genuine or not, but that is my opinion and it means nothing. The only thing that matters is what the IO thinks at the interview.
