I thought all that was tied to funding, and a piece of an agricultural bill that got ripped to shreds last month.

It's not that 'its down', so much, as the monthly fees for maintenance/monitoring weren't paid, so someone turned the switch OFF.

If Obama had any testicles he would have done that at midnight on day one. AND pulled all the air traffic controllers AND TSA AND truned around airplanes en route to the USA and sent them back

Strand a few thousand Americans overseas, shut down the airports and see how fast this gets settled. It would have been over before you woke up on day one.. You wouldalso see how PISSED OFF a Obama Americans would get, and he has no testicles for THAT.

BUT this is not about that...this is about Obama getting his way and embarrassing Republicans without taking a risk himself. He gets to SAY "shut down" but really doesn't shut much down, he gets to "blame" the big nothing on the Republicans and the low information types which make up most Americans and nearly all Democrats, buy off on it.

It is all political gamesmanship and is all the best reason in the world NOT to let the Federal Government handle your health care or feed your children.

Sure, the sky is falling. My daughter eats what she wants at school. Sometimes that's the school lunch, sometimes it's a lunch from home. It's really up to her what she prefers on any given day. Doesn't require any involvement of her doctor.

And yet, it has nothing to do with national government or politics. That's what you are not quite getting.

So there's a school district or maybe even a state gone mad. That's local. Fix it locally and get on with life.

But don't sit there and suggest that somehow this is an issue of national importance. It isn't.

The problem is that this is often the norm. No one in their right mind does not want to help the poor. The problem is that we enable them.

Those 4 kids she speaks of. I can almost guarantee you the cycle will repeat itself. The girls will become young unwed mothers and the boys will more than likely enter the justice system.

But yet it will be blamed on racism

You want to help her.. Force her to get Birth Control after the first child

Make her benefits tied to being enrolled in school or job training

Make them get out of the home everyday and do something to get those benefits
