normally according to NVC personnel they dont look at the 2012 taxes to determine if he/she can sponsor. They look at what the sponsor intend to make this very year he sponsored the applicant. Anyway is tatal income taxes for 2012 was 20,780, I think he makes more money this time.

So your friend has themselves 2 children another sponsored person and possibly a spouse and you want them to sponsor your spouse

You are looking at a household of at least 5 or maybe 6 If it is 6 he does not make enough ( if it is more because the prior sponsored family was greater than 1 you are also out of luck )

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

So then his family size is Him, 2 kids, one other immigrant and the new one. He makes enough but be prepared to explain the big difference between 2012 and 2013 and that the higher income will continue

That's NVC dear. NVC could careless what you made previous. But I know Lags most def looks at prior year. And I have seen many making way over the poverty guideline now but last year no. So they were told to get another co-sponsor.

I have sent an email to the embassy to hear their responds. I will feed you guys bck the latest

I guarabntee you the embassy will not instruct you. That would be giving advise and they don't do that. It's up to you to figure it out.

Like I said I do know Lagos looks at previous year and current year. If his 2012 is under you should have a backup co-sponsor just oin case. Who knows the CO maybe feeling generous that day.

For the purpose of I- 864 tax return for 2012 are relevant unless sponsors income for 2013 is more then 2012, in that case pay stubs for 2013 showing that sponsor may earn more in 2013 will be relevant.

The pay stubs of my friend shows that he earn more money 2013 than 2012. NVC have approve it already and the case is completed. But someone in this line said, the consulate in U.S embassy in NIgeria will say that 2012 income is low compare to 2013 income. Well I have discussed with a lot of people and they told me that it is all about 2013 not 2012. 2013 is used to determine the requirement.
