I applied for my wife as a permanent resident for I-130 and it was approved 5 years ago . Recently I became a US citizen and applied for her I-485 and included copy of approved I-130 and proof of my citizenship . Today I received I-797c with priority date October 2009 and preference category family based 2a. Our case was transferred to national benefit center when it was accepted. We clearly stated in our cover latter that I was USC and included all the supporting evidence. I assume it was clerical error since approval notice for I-130 states preference category as family based 2a. What is the best way to get it changed ? I will try to call them on Monday . Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks
